The today's weather where you are thread

It is supposed to be very chilly but sunny all day here. I have looked outside a couple of times and all I can see is freezing fog!

I am going to try to get a short ride in if/when it clears but it it will have to be main roads only because there is snow, slush and ice on all the local minor roads.

Car thermometer varied between 0 and -4 this morning depending on elevation and surrounding buildings. Presently 1 outside. Might go for a walk but the ice on the garden table says be careful and definitely no cycling.

I read that as "cat thermometer" which put an interesting spin on the rest of the information.

The fog did eventually lift, the sun showed itself, and I did nip out, but I only got 5 minutes up the road before I had to stop to pull my skull cap down over my ears - they were freezing in the cold breeze! It wasn't so bad after that but I had full winter gear on for the first time this winter. (Mainly because I have hardly been out on the bike since the start of December! )

Still very dodgy to walk on icy pavements and low blinding when driving sunshine. Or as the weather reports say, 'a beautiful sunny winter's day'.

Correct. Not missing the cold weather at all!

Might as well look at cobwebs in hedgerows than rely on the MO.

Nature has a better chance of being correct. Keep an eye on the birds as they're flying, and on the natural light colour.
