Good morning all. No rain yet but it is due early afternoon although to the west I can see the clouds coming my way.
The usual dog walking first thing then I'm going up into the attic to get down a dismantled wardrobe that has been up there for years. The community skip is coming this week and is conveniently situated right opposite our house so it will go there. They sort out what can be recycled and what is just general rubbish. They take more or less anything except hazardous stuff.
I'll do an hour or so on the turbo in my man cave whilst listening to the football on the radio this afternoon before cooking tea which is a roast chicken and roast potatoes and vegetables.
That seems to be today mapped out.
Enjoy. 🍵

Good morning everyone.
Dry and breezy here in Coventry but the rain and even stronger winds should be on the way here in the next hour or so . The wind is forecast to be 23 gusting to 43mph which is really at the very top of the range for dinghy sailing.
Think I have fallen lucky today as it’s my turn to do rescue duty. On days like this I would rather be the one pulling people out of the water, rather than the one that is being pulled out of the water 😀.
Have a great day everyone and stay safe .

I think so. Let me check in the mirror.

Yep, one eye in the middle of my head, definitely me.
My wife saw me earlier & said “you must work out”.
I replied “that’s a nice thing to say”.
She said “no….you MUST work out”

Well, we managed a fair bit of pickleball yesterday, helping with a sound test 😜
They are planning to add another pickleball court to the 3 we have, & part of the application (apparently) is to show noise impact (they club is surrounded by houses in an estate…although the club was there first, albeit as a tennis club). Various noises of a dozen of us playing were recorded & measured over an hour or so, in the beautiful sunshine.
Good job: they originally planned it for today, which would have been less pleasant…

Morning all :hello:

Had a good, but tiring, day at the bike show yesterday.
Picked up a few bargains - best one was a complete Bantam engine for £100. It's on the workbench now and I'll delve into it later.
Feet and back were aching after standing up for most of the day; glad to get to bed last night.
Off to the Railway Inn for Sunday lunch.:hungry:

Salut. It is blowing a gale here and rain expected soon. I must walk Molly shortly before it comes.
Nothing planned today as I am still physically low. I shall watch the rugby this afternoon and possibly another episode of Reacher on Prime later this morning.
Mrs G is going half way to Blackpool with our daughter to hand the great grand children back to their parents.
Glad I'm not going.

Well - busy day so far

came down about 8 as usual and eventually got round to switched the laptop on
checked my emails and found one from
completesaving.co.uk

WHAT??
apparently I have been subscribing to "their service" - at £18 a month

I NEVER do that - even at the claimed saving rate of 10% I would need to spend £180 a month to save anything
clear scam

so why/how did I do it

must have either been obtaining the details via nefarious means - or damn subtle in some way making it look like another site

soooo

a morning filling in cancellation forms, ringing the credit card people to cancel and block
and filling in a complaint form for the "company"
and a chargeback fro the bank to try to claw back the subscriptions I have already paid

When I rang the bank I got the impression that he had heard of teh company before - it was only quick but I thought I caught a "oh this one" tone in his voice for half a sylable

anyway - bank were great so I have hope that I will get some of the money back

bar stewards

anyway - looks like rain and wind today so riding is sub-optimal

if we need anything it will be a walk to the co-op and put up with the higher prices!!

The rain has arrived here, to go with the wind that arrived a few hours before it.

Could be fun on a building site nearby, see if the roof stays on. They never finished fastening it down last week.

Looking windy out

I am very disappointed with our neighbours

the last 2 windy days have been enlivened by watching their shelter/gazebo/posh tent thing in their garden blowing around and wondering if it will hold or if the thin metal poles will bend and crease in the pressure
Last year they took the fabric off the roof but this year they didn;t and it acted like a sail

( it was actually quite a nice thing - looked very smart and useful in the summer!)

all of which was fun (I really should get out more!!!)

anyway - annoying people have taken it down and built a solid wooden one which has no chance of blowing over
