Good morning from a grey Dorset. Mrs Tkk had an appointment with the dental hygienist this morning and I have several odd jobs to do. Yesterday I touched up the wallpaper in the small bedroom with a couple of Dulux match pot type devices. Today i have to do some jiggery pokery in the outhouse in preparation for the kitchen upheaval that will starton Monday.
Have a peaceful day folks

Morning all :hello:

Grey, breezy and cool this morning....brrr.
Little job to do first thing; one of MrsDs bird feeder poles needs repairing, as it's rusted through. I'll chop through it, clean it up and weld a supporting tube into it. 10 minute job, but will save her the cost of buying a new one.

Off to the Whire Horse for fish an chips at lunchtime. :hungry::cheers:

I have had a mad notion to learn an instrument recently  Having researched a fair bit, I have discounted almost everything as being too difficult except the ukulele so got a cheap one coming later today. Only £60 so if I use it a few times and get fed up, it’s no huge loss. At least nowadays there’s loads of great teaching lessons on the tube. Maybe if I take it really slowly and don’t try to learn too much at once, I might pick it up enough to at least manage half a dozen easy chords

But can you sing too? You will need to in order to sing " window cleaning".

Good luck with that. I've tried a few instruments in the past, but I've got little patience. I always wish I'd stuck with the guitar, would have been nice to have a strum sometimes.

I have a harmonica (Xmas present) sitting on my desk. Been there 14 months and I haven't got round to starting learning yet. I wanted one for many a year, too.

Good luck with your own mad notion!

I also have a Red Hawk Airfix kit that needs starting - an Xmas present from 4 or 5 years back.

Mrs SD has an Origami 'kit' not started from Xmas 3 years back plus a wood & bronze complicated puzzle set not started from this Xmas.

I think there is a moral to these tragic tales somewhere.

Plus plenty of used storage space taken up by similar tales across the land...

Morning all .
Brrrr it cold out there . I was thinking of going for a ride , but I really really hate cycling when it’s cold. To many years having to do it when I cycled to work for decades. So that idea swiftly left me.😀
So the plan for today seems to be , coffee shop, Tescos and the sailing club to do some maintenance, not necessarily in that order. 😂
Looks like this cold snap is continuing through the weekend. Not looking forward to sailing on Sunday if it is . It’s the down side of sailing an open transom boat , it’s always a little wet.
Oh well , have a good day folks .

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
My car is poorly at the moment. My exhaust is broken ( not my exhaust my cars exhaust). Mr WD and the bin have managed to wire it up so that I can take it to the garage which is only 4 miles away. They will fix it and MOT it while it's there. The bin will follow me to the garage in his car and bring me back.

Hopefully I will have my car on the road again by the middle of next week.
