Good morning from a soon to be sunny Dorset. A friend is popping round at 10:00 to go for a run. He's one of the original " gang of four " who started running together over 40 years ago. He's training for an upcoming race so will be running from his home to run with me and then run home afterwards ( he's only about three miles away so nothing too daunting).
Meanwhile the gradual kitchen clear out continues with another bag for the charity shop ( Kilner jars )

From the very small amount I know there is a complicated relationship/interaction between strokes, TIAs and UTIs. A stroke/TIA can trigger a UTI and a UTI can trigger a stroke or TIA. I don't know much more than this other than a couple of older friends have been very concerned when they've had a UTI.

Yes, that is more or less the extent of my experience. Mother-in-law several times had what were initially thought to be TIA/Stroke, but, subsequently turned out to be UTI.

Morning all.
WoW, cold again at 0°. Garden is covered in frost.
My sleep pattern is getting more stupid.
I have been waking up at 03.00 and having to get up.
Last night I was so tired that I was in bed before 10 and slept solidly till 7:15 this morning.
Just one thing on the agenda which is the pub at lunch time.

:hello: Morning it's 0c here :cold:
I've just been asked to be a admin/moderator for a fishing forum

Good idea.
I no longer fish but used to do a lot of sea fishing, mainly beach but also boat.

@ebikeerwidnes this is a difficult post to read. I hope you're feeling better now but more importantly getting all the necessary referrals to treat the potential causes of the TIA.

Do you feel everything has been properly explained to you?

I think so
I am seeing a proper head person later this week so I will find out more then

at the moment I am getting better and am generally OK so that's good
but it is just a case of waiting to see for now

As I said to my wife - this is all wrong - she is supposed to be the sick one - not me!
She called me a facilitator!! (probably accurate!)

Not read todays posts because I have spent most of the day in A&E

brain was a bit weird this morning (Yes - I know) but badly weird
I forgot my wife's name and the names of the Grand Kids - they came back after a while but that ain;t good

anyway - went to A&E and was stuck there for 6 and a half hours

doctor was great and so were the nurses - just took ages

seems like I might have had a TIA - maybe

so I can;t drive for a while - which will bugger up picking the kids up from school which we do once a week!

and other things like shopping

still -could be worse

Sorry to hear that.

I have two friends who have had a TIA. One 9 years ago and one 3 years ago.

Both are perfectly fine albeit on various medications to avoid strokes.

One was as fit as a fiddle and one was fat, no exercise etc. The latter is now a lean walking machine!

Good luck with your recovery and the upside is a TIA 'warning shot' is far better than having a Stroke as a first indicator of a potential problem.
