Have you got one of those new-fangled heat pump thingies?

We was looking (online) at some 4 and 5 bed detached gaffs in Driffield. They had them as standard. Guess that's the way the world is heading!

It was not much fun on the M62 at the high points around midday.

Junctions 24 to 21.
Always fun in winter.
Even more at present with it being a diversionary route, due to the valley road being closed. Sinkhole opened on it over a month ago.

Talking about those heat pump thingies, some of the villagers had them Installed as part of the package offered by the government along with insulation, solar panels. Most took the heat pump thingies out within a few weeks as they just didn't work.

Sadly you can’t beat gas central heating, it’s cheap and effective

Nay lad. Hadn't at the old place as my nephew part owned a firm that dealt with them but we're on a gas boiler in the new place, one of the last not to go the heat pump way on the development. On the plus side its an A rated property and holds the heat very nicely.

The heating is clever, splits the house into zones so were only heating the bit we need. After all, why heat the bedrooms when everyone is awake? During the day when I'm home alone I lurk in the living room and run the AC in reverse to heat just the one room.

Got to be heat pumps in new builds now I think?

There’s a new estate being built up the top end of the town. The houses they built last year were gas but I see the newest builds are now heat pumps.

I think that heat pumps work well on new builds with every part of the place insulated to the highest standard.
Older places , not so well.
