Every time you say this I wonder why. So, why? If its not a personal question.

Good question.
Part of the cleaners routine is to remake the bed, including fresh duvet cover (which I hate doing). When the old bedding is dry she folds it and puts it away. She can do that far better than me and far quicker than me.
We/I 1st took her on when Sue became ill and quickly became part of the family.

Squirrel Update.

A few days ago, I posted about having a (Grey) squirrel visit our urban garden.

Well, now, we have four of them visiting!

Only managed to get two in shot!, they move so fast!

Yes - they did well
apparently the break was under a river and the river was in full flow so they had to build a coffer dam across it and divert it
then dig down to the pipe and repair it

I was interested because the house I lived in before I moved here would have been affected

and also I was interested in the "coffer dam" thingy as I was looking at how they are fixing the canal breach on the Bridgewater canal the otehr day and they are using one on that
(I cycle along part of that canal so I was interested!)

anyway - looks like it will take them 48 hours to refill the system - shows how serious it was

apparently they have been trucking bottled water down from Scotland!!!

We are all going to get £30 compensation for every 12 hours we were cut off. Nice of them to do so.

So - apparently today was officially "Drive like a Dickhead Day"

We had to go and pick the youngest and his cousin up from school and wait in for the eldest to walk home
and the middle one to come home on "his" bus from his Special School

Their Mum works and is normally home about 4 - depending on busses

Anyway - their house is a 30 minutes drive away and the school is 10 minutes after that
anyway - on the motorway I was undertaken - in stupdily little room 3 times when I was basically doing the same speed at about 20 vehicle ahead - so no real gain for a very risky bit of driving

then on the way to the school there is a hump back bridge over a canal - only 1 car wide and very steep

so I edge up to the top as usual watching in case I notice the roof of another car doing the same on the other side

when a large van comes flying over the hill and nearly becomes airborn over the bridge - missed me by a few inches

followed by another oen that at least did slow down to get past me!!

The n several other bits of terrible driving on the way home

no actual accidents but people taking stupid risks to gain naff all

anyway - pie and chips for dinner - gluten free pastry is pretty naff and GF gravy doesn;t help that much but whatever

The kids are coming here tomorrow for the day and night
which should be interesting as there is a big pile of soil and another of sand on the front drive!!

and a load of bricks in the back garden

yup builder are in building a shed and re-doing the garden!!

and we has 3 kids for the weekend
what could possibly go wrong!!!

Get any good ideas from it?

Yes, steer clear of robots that look like Ian Holm!

Good day. A bike ride. I'm going on a bike ride. That's a novel idea. Mild, still and possibly sunshine. A few of us have decided to join a club ride. With 18 days since my last ride and current fitness levels I'm only confident to join the social ride. At this time of year if only a few turn out the rides blend together and choose a different route. If that happens it will involve faster riders, I won't join that and will head off solo. I'm hoping for 50 miles to get my first CC challenge chalked off.

Friends coming tonight for supper and Canasta. I've prepared the main course, Red Hot Beef, in the slow cooker with baked potatoes or rice. It's slightly spicy, red comes from the colour. One friend only eats very spicy food, she's getting a bowl of chopped chillis to scatter over hers.

Behave now. Catch you all later. 👋👋
