Good morning all from a misty, murky Barnet.
A mate of mine is coming down so we can go for a walk with the dogs a little later on before we retire to the Mitre for an escape committee meeting at lunchtime.

Do you have a criteria for being a member of the escape committee ?
If I lived nearer I would apply to join.

WoW. Went back to bed at 06.30 and had over 2 hours of deep sleep.
Slowly coming round but happy with the kip.
Plans.......off to the pub at lunch time. We always have a nice bowl of chips with our drink but with me gob problem I will struggle.
Oh BTW, I was amazed to see the garden and cars frozen over.

Did my volunteering day today at our local bike charity, I don’t know if I’m coming down with something but I feel completely done in this evening, also I’m not drinking which I do miss, a cup of tea is not quite the same as a nice cold strong Belgium beer but it has to be done!

I must have just felt a bit run down as I got up early and feel tip top today. Meeting a pal for breakfast at Turweston, home this afternoon for a couple of hours work and then finished for the week!

Good morning from a sunny but chilly Dorset. I forgot to mention that our Tuesday walking group usually go for coffee and a natter after our walk. Three of the ladies go to the Methodist Church hall ( Tea, Coffee, £1, includes biscuit ) a further two ladies go to the Turkish Cafe ( Coffee " reasuringly expensive " ) but the bulk pop into 'Spoons ( tea, coffee £1.25 unlimited free refills ). I almost always have a pint of one of the guest ales, on Tuesday I had a pint of Hobgoblin, it was on offer at £1.49 🍺👍
Off for a run soon, then will finally get round to insulating the loft hatch.

A far cry from a recent post-walk drink in Grasmere recently.

2 pints and 2 small packets of Scratchings... £13.45

Also 3 medium Chardonays at a bar in Kendal prior to going to the flicks a couple of weeks back was £18.75, absolutely bonkers.

It's no wonder the pub trade, in general, is going to the dogs.

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.

If its part of a large group the amount of rent that they charge is horrendous. People just can't earn enough money to live on anymore. The owners just keep taking more and more from the pub landlords.

I've been hobbling around yesterday and today. One of my toes really hurts and I didn't know why. I've just remembered that I stubbed my toe on the end of the bed the other day so that's why it hurts so much. It's very ouchy

That comes from walking around in the dark trying to find your bloomers.

Good morning. It's the most glorious day in Lancashire. Clear skies, brilliant sunshine and a little warmth in the air. There was a sharp frost though.

Enjoying today so far. A good exercise routine and then down to the gym for a spin class. It was intense, plenty of emphasis on endurance which is what I need. Some spin classes are beat you up, aerobics on a bike, but this instructor has a nice approach which offers much more.

Cards group this afternoon.

Picked up the new telly yesterday. The picture quality is outstanding when played through an app. I can't find the menu for setting up channels through the aerial, we need this for Mrs P's recording. I'll call the shop shortly. I often think the switch from paper manuals, or at least a quick setup guide, is a backwards one for the consumer.
