Yes, I must admit, with

mirrors which tell me if there is a vehicle in my blindspot,
beeps if I cross the lane markings, without a signal
sensors which tell me how close I am to an obstacle when manoeuvring (and, applies the brakes, if I get too close)
cruise control which automatically keeps the gap with the car infront
... and more...

the car is more intelligent than I am 😂

Yes - my car has lots of electronic gizmos

but I have switched a lot of them off - the ones you mention are useful and I have kept

the default basically has a beep sounding every few seconds on a busy motorway and I then have to look all around to work out what on Earth it is trying to tell me
When I should be looking forward or in the mirror!

WOrst one was a warning that a car is passing me or that I am passing a car
Very useful - except that to find out what is happening I have to check both outside mirrors for a flashing light

so on a busy motorway - say I am doing 60 in the middle lane and the inside lane is doing 50 and the outside 70
then everytime I pass a car the left mirror flashes a light and sounds a beep
and everytime a car passes me the right mirror does the same

so it is beep beep beep all the time and I cannot tell the different between these beep and ones that flash on the speedo without lokking for something

so I have switched out "car passing" beeps off - along with several others that are just not necessary

Yes, one of my “elderly”* pals bought himself a new Honda CRV. He hates it because of all the beeps and warnings.

* by elderly, I mean older than me, he is 84 😊

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.

My brother has an electric Kia. He says he has never driven a car with so many gadgets. He had no idea what they are for. He says I only need to be able to go forward, backwards, turn my lights on, use the windscreen wipers and the Indicators. He has a manual to tell him what everything is and it's nearly 100 pages long.

The last day of our holiday in Devon, had a lazy morning and then a visit to Coleton Fishacre. We‘ve visited many times but it’s always magical, the house and gardens are stunning..

I quite like the thought of lots of gizmos, but they just mean more to go wrong with it
I like gizmos as well. In my last 2-3 years working my company car was a Nissan Quashqai.........it almost woke me up with a coffee and suggested it was time to get up.

If mine - which is also a Honda - is anything to go by then there is a setting menu that can be used to switch a lot of them off

not all - the blind spot ones can;t be switched off but can be made to stop bleeping - the light on my mirror still flashes but that is less annoying than a random beep that is the same as 17 other beeps

you can also get a PDF version of the manual if you want it online - although I doubt that comment is much help!

I have mixed feelings, our new Cupra Born has every known gadget known to man, some very useful, some intrusive, most controlled via an app, however our 2016 Škoda Citigo is reassuringly old fashioned, feels like a Spanish hire car, just simple and basic, you even start it with a key!
