Mrs P likes to record ITV programmes so she can skip through the adverts. Even I noticed last night. Watching Vera at about 9.20pm I remarked this is going on forever. Over two hours I would guess 20-25 minutes is ads or "xxxx sponsors yyy"

Also ITVx isn't anything like as good as iPlayer and has a limited amount of advertising.

BBC programmes we use iPlayer.

Same here, we record ITV programmes so we can skip through the adverts.

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.

We had BBQ pork and rice today. And I've been pottering

It's a nice sunny afternoon here if a tad cool.
I had the admission office from the hospital on the phone this morning offering me the 17th of January for my knee replacement. Unfortunately I had to turn it down as I am flying out on holiday on the 24th and I won't be too mobile by then.
The lady said she would call me back with a date after the 3rd of February.
Just my luck.

the temp is dropping again. From 4 deg down to 2 deg.

And it's starting to get lighter now. 4pm and it's still light

Same here. I nipped out just for a short walk before darkness comes down and it’s perishing already.

I started a book earlier. A crime series off Amazon but it was rubbish. I won’t be continuing. Totally unbelievable. A DCI that lets a reporter approach her at the initial crime scene investigation and gives out the victim’s name and how she was killed.

Will Butler-Adam’s has big ideas and is hugely ambitious (IMO a bit over ambitious), the problem is people are just not buying as many bikes as they were, and lots of potential customers are now working from home, they also ploughed a lot of their reserves into developing the G Line, I genuinely hope 2025 is kinder to them, as they are a good company producing a really good quality product. However perhaps they just need to be more cautious about the speed of expansion and growth.

I like to record stuff - the ff and rwd controls are generally much better on the playback than on streaming

Hence it is easier to skip over the adverts - streaming is getting much better at forcing you to run them through
and sometimes streaming doesn;t have subtitles when recording do
So far I have always preferred using the "magic" on the separate boxes

Out TV does have integrated "magic" (Its just a Linux system in reality) but the processor is so pathetic that it doesn;t work as well and the controls are not as well thought out

A question, if I may. This is my opinion only.
Home made bread doesn't keep well. Days 1&2 are good. Day 3 is good for toast.
So...... As it is just for you do find this a problem?

I always used to when I made my own bread
it does show how much the shop stuff uses preservatives!

I used to cut the loaf in half and freeze one half for a few days
but SMWBO prefers Warbutons white bread (yes I know) so when she moved in it wasn;t worth having both

Just been out for a walk
via ASDA as my wife had a prescription to be picked up from their pharmacy
anyway I certainly didnot at any point stop in McDonalds for a cupps and have some chips with it - no no no

anyway - I also did not meet a security guard there that used to be an armed protection person - Princess Anne, Prince Phillip among others. Travelled all over
very interesting but then some old bloke (OK OK OK - oldER bloke) came over to ask hom something - sort of guy who looked like he needed a chat

anyway - on the way home I went ona few black paths - as they are called around here - bit slippy in places
worst place by far was the zebra crossing near home
it always gets wet around there as the stream passes under the road and the playing fields all drainthrough a car park at the same point
The knobbly bits at the edges - the ones that are there to help blind people - were lethal, Icy surface of the knobbles meant that you had little surface area for your shoe to grip onto - and that bit was slippy

nearly lost it coming off the crossing but just caught myself!!

anyway - back now and that's it for today !!
