Looks cold out there - not opened the door to look

Not much needs doing - but SWMBO has been complaining about a draft from under the fitted cupboards in the bedroom when it is windy
She thinks it comes from where the radiator used to be connected to the wall before it was moved so she wants the screw holes filled in
whic won't help because they are screw holes so don;t go anywhere but.....
anyway - more likely to be coming from the old pipe holes but it is worth having a look - which means taking all the drawers out and stuff
might have a go at that this afternoon

Good morning from a chilly Dorset. Mrs Tkk has physio today, and the black bin is due to be emptied. Just had our home insurance renewal notification from eNationwide and it has almost doubled despite never having made a claim. Time to shop around I think.
Will venture forth later but be careful of my footing as the pavement looks a bit sparkly. Have a peaceful day folks

I have recently renewed with M&S. The premium increase was £67 which I thought very reasonable. Why? I made a £5800 claim for new bike, helmet, kit and Wahoo in July.

I had expected a huge increase. At only £67 and knowing I had received excellent service regarding the claim I didn't consider shopping around.

Happy to recommend M&S.

Good morning. I popped outside to put the milk bottles out. Very still, clear skies and a hard frost. Forecast for 0⁰ at 12.00 and -1⁰ by 4.00pm. BRRRRR.

Today I must get the house clean (it's dusty), iron and shop. A session with my PT this afternoon, probably including the New Year weigh in....😱 and I must sign up for the local council gym on my way home.

Yesterday I had a plan. It was going well. Then at 11.00 #3 son calls. "Just thought we'd pop over to see you"......"Your Dad wants to watch Rovers at 3.00"......"OK. We'll set off now"

On arrival it became clear the kids were bored to tears. Let's go and play with Granddad. This wasn't what Granddad needed. At 3.10 they left. Switched on telly, apps won't load so I can't get the footie. Eventually found Sky Sports on the laptop. I don't think Sky could make their website more complicated if they tried. Customer friendly? Pah! Checked the magic box at half-time. It's dead. Watched second half and then spent two hours trying to fix the dead magic box. Failed. The Amazon Firestick isn't playing fair either.

I now need a new magic box and don't really know where to begin. This is not good. I've half a mind to look at a new telly. These seem to do magic as well.

how old is your telly ?

At a guess 6 years. I can check later. Any advice would be appreciated as I don't have much knowledge of these things.

Our dead box is a BT one from the days when we used BT TV and broadband. It's very old. From the apps on the box we would regularly .use iPlayer, Netflix, ITVx, very occasionally NOW TV. We use Amazon Prime via a Firestick which gives Mrs P access to tennis through, I think, Eurosport.

The ability to record is very important to my wife.

Curious why people still like to record stuff. Virtually everything is available on catch up now if you miss it.

Mrs P likes to record ITV programmes so she can skip through the adverts. Even I noticed last night. Watching Vera at about 9.20pm I remarked this is going on forever. Over two hours I would guess 20-25 minutes is ads or "xxxx sponsors yyy"

Also ITVx isn't anything like as good as iPlayer and has a limited amount of advertising.

BBC programmes we use iPlayer.
