I always used to when I made my own bread
it does show how much the shop stuff uses preservatives!

I used to cut the loaf in half and freeze one half for a few days
but SMWBO prefers Warbutons white bread (yes I know) so when she moved in it wasn;t worth having both

Now the family have moved in and they enjoy my bread it's not a problem but since Sue died and I was on my own I found half went in the bin.
I didn't enjoy it once.frozen.

Now that I can;t eat normal bread I still get Warburton's white Toastie for my wife
I just get the half sized loaf - half sized with 2/3 sized pieces but not half price!!

generally half gets thrown out as she only has a few slices every few days

does work with the autistic grand son - he won;t eat breakfast but is fine if it is made with "Special Mini Bread"
whatever works!

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
A question, if I may. This is my opinion only.
Home made bread doesn't keep well. Days 1&2 are good. Day 3 is good for toast.
So...... As it is just for you do find this a problem?

Home made bread doesn't have all the additives and preservatives that shop bought bread has, that's why it doesn't last as long. I agree with the length of time it lasts. Then again, I only make bread when I have run out of bread and we are going to use it within a couple of days.

Curious why people still like to record stuff. Virtually everything is available on catch up now if you miss it.

I still like to record stuff:

You can skip through the adverts

You don’t have to remember which channel it was on

A third one, not applicable to everyone, Mrs B has Alzheimer’s and struggles to use the streaming Apps, but, can use the recording feature, for now at least.

I do the same thing. I can skip the adverts altogether. And sometimes on demand isn't always available.

For the record. How many of you still have a VHS player/recorder? I still have mine but I haven't connected it to the tv yet.
I still have a few VHS tapes that I will not throw away.
Same with the cd player. They both still work.
Today was a very nice day, sunny with blue sky so I chopped up a few more logs . Glad I did because it is raining now.
We are two days into the new year and my bikes have not been out yet and probably won't for a few more days.
I noticed a small water leak from the roof in the conservatory yesterday so I will buy some clear silicone tomorrow and hopefully fix it.

All that stuff has been ditched years ago, next job is to remove the dish and Humax freesat boxes as I can’t remember the last time we watched anything on freeview, all our viewing is now on demand. I also no longer own a single LP or CD, my whole music collection is on Apple Music.

We did have a Betamex (spelling?) but that was many years ago.

We have a small portable TV which has a slot for VHS tapes. I don't know if it still works. I digitised all the family videos around 15 years ago. We do still have the original tapes hence the TV.

I still have a CD player and all my CDs but haven't used it in years. We also have a stereo system with radio, turntable and cassette deck. I still have every album I ever bought though not many cassettes. I bought the system for £50 in a charity shop four years ago. Great purchase.

#2 son has a VHS player.

The weather played ball today for the big day today, we had breakfast is Dartmouth and then a glass of champagne and birthday cake on the beach at Torcross.

Fish and chips tonight in Dartmouth, so a lovely 60th Birthday!

My favourite little cakes - albeit a very rare treat as they are so carby. Luv 'em!

Happy birthday.👍

Will Butler-Adam’s has big ideas and is hugely ambitious (IMO a bit over ambitious), the problem is people are just not buying as many bikes as they were, and lots of potential customers are now working from home, they also ploughed a lot of their reserves into developing the G Line, I genuinely hope 2025 is kinder to them, as they are a good company producing a really good quality product. However perhaps they just need to be more cautious about the speed of expansion and growth.

Going to get worse in the West too. Chinese (I think) carbon pushing hard into pro' teams, X-Lab if I recall rightly. Suppliers of whole bikes. If they get the distribution chain and customer service side set up properly, they will be a real force.

No VHS recorder, no CD player, no TV licence.

Netflix + Amazon Prime + YT for visuals and Spotify for music.

Still have a working VHS camcorder, along with a VHS recorder.
