Grey sky and a rainbow here. Not sure if it’s worth risking a walk.

I quite enjoyed watching the " Highland Cops " series Mo, but I wouldn't want you coming a cropper and featuring in a future episode.

Barnet,
I've just got back from the assessment.
Blood taken, swabs swabbed,, ecg, blood pressure, height and weight taken. Had a chat with the senior nurse and I have now got a bag of homework to read, pots of drink to take the day before admittance, anti bacterial wipes and gel to put up my Hooter.
If all the tests are ok I'll be on the waiting list. Average waiting time is 3-4 months.
At least I'm in the system. 😁

If I looked at my Strava stats for this year they would be depressing

Didn;t ride all that much over summer and then got a cold in autumn
I was banned from going out in cold weather until I got over it but I have never really had a good nose/sinus system since
breathing is OK - probably thanks to Astma inhalers - but going out in the cold is not a good idea

Anyway - last few days I have had a local walk - mostly roads - every day which is good
legs certainly feel a lot better

Looks like it will be raining tomorrow so no point then

I was quite pleased today as I did the whole route without stopping for anything and Strava said I averaged 3.5 mph - which seems pretty good as this is my new slower walking alone pace - my original "walking alone" pace had longer strides and more shoulder action to counter the stride length
but my asthma made it difficult to maintain so I reduced the stride length a few years ago

I refuse to make it a New Year Resolution as I don;t do them - I resent them for being a sort of nagging thing that I "should do" and that means I look for excuses to avoid them
Then I have not done it for ages so I have failed
such things are just bad for the way my mind works

as soon as the weather improves - and the Christmas rush has died down - I need to get my bike to the LBS and get it sorted out properly - nothing bad but the Bosch system needs to be run through the official comptery thingy (I'm a professional - I know about these things!) and the chain and gears need adjusting and stuff
after that I should have the drive to get out on it when the weather allows!

In the meantime I should look for some local walks that are more interesting

Still pouring down here and roads are beginning to flood.

We could not summon up enough enthusiasm to put up the new curtains so we set about finalising next year's financial spreadsheet instead - the bulk of the work being done earlier in the month. Job completed!

My poorly shoulder hurt on the multi-gym which was disappointing. Might postpone the use of that piece of equipment for another week.

The last responders to umpteen Xmas messages via txt, WA, or email have finally replied!

We got very few Xmas cards this year - numbers have been falling since the Pandy. Not helped by the price of stamps too, I guess.

It's blowing a hooley here and pouring with rain. I think we'll get soaked just walking round to next door.

I've been to the Leisure Centre. £23/month which is very reasonable. I would have signed up there and then but the young lady wanted proof of my age.........I guess that's a compliment?? 🤣

Happy New Year to one and all and remember one thing........
