Just had Daughter #3 on the phone. Her feller, a hulking great ex pro rugbyist and still keen semi pro player, and a few of his equally large and ruffty rugbyist mates arrived drunk back at their house at about 1 am and spotted a ne'er do well burgling their elderly neighbour garage. It seemed the unfortunate fellow was very clumsy and fell heavily many times in his haste to escape and actually seemed quite relieved when the police arrived to rescue him arrest him. I love heartwarming stories at Christmas time.

Oh dear

I do hope no-one was injured while they were chatting

having sore knuckles is very inconvenient when eating Christ Dinner

Right been up for a while -as usual

just off to Tesco to get what I can

I had several very vivid dreams last night about working in ASDA on the self scan section

clearly I am worrying too much about shopping for Christmas so I better just get it done

problem is Mushy Peas - which in my book are one above cheese but SWMBO regards them as an essential part of Christmas Dinner (I know -
weird or WHAT!)

She will compromise to the frozen ones but most places don;t sell them and the ones we have in the freezer have been there since Moses were a lad - wonder if they are OK or not
(OK - they're not - but will she think they are edible??)

anyway - off to Tesco first

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
Well leave it be. Let sleepy hail lay undisturbed.

We got a bit of snow in the early hours, not much though and certainly less than was worth issuing the weather warning about.

I like the description of sleepy rain.

Oh dear. Pity he fell many times. It does tend to happen especially where ex rugby players are concerned. I do hope they didn't hurt their hands trying to help him up again and again.

He's a bright lad, learned his lessons well from me over the years. Elbows and foreheads are much less likely to bruise ;)

Actually, he is a really nice lad too and I'm hoping he'll pop the question to #3 before too long.

Not tried Pataks for many years.
I enjoy the Aldi jar. It has a separate powder that you mix as you fry the onions/mushrooms etc then add that when the chicken is sealed....... It is very nice.

A number of years ago now, I was working in Gibraltar, with a fellow Software Engineer from Pune (India). My wife, and, daughters No 2 and 3 were visiting me, and, my Indian colleague invited us to his accommodation for a meal. His wife produced a selection of Indian food, including some delicious Chicken Tikka. D2 and D3 (then aged 12 and 14) demolished most of it, so, she promptly produced more, which they made major inroads to. My wife, felling slightly embarrassed and trying to cover for the apparent gluttony of D2 and D3, asked if she could have the recipe, so that she could make them some at home. My colleagues wife promptly produced a jar of Pataks sauce. So, it would appear, even "real" Indians use it.

This was quite a while ago, D2 and D3 are now 50 and 52 respectively ;)
