Guess who has turned up. YEP. Greedy oinker grandson. The school still doesn't have any power so he has a day off and of course he wants some lunch

Don't his parents feed him then?

Cold and grey here, drove through to East Lothian for a walk between Gullane and Dirleton, very pleasant. This is the view back towards Edinburgh.

Power has just come back on. :okay:
Hoping they don't have to cut it again while they are doing repairs to the network.

How about light, heating cooking. That is a long time, are they offering any help.
No lighting, heating or cooking, all rely on electricity - even my gas fire won't fire up without electric.

First world problem.......
Not really.
Being able to communicate with power companies, or keep up to date with local circumstances, is pretty difficult with no phone or internet.

I've just noticed that the wing mirror indicator lens cover is broken on our car.
I've ordered one from the Bay of e which should be here by Wednesday. Just have to work out how to fit it.🤔

My Jazz n/s indicated ceased to work. Believe me, the cowl & mirror is designed to be assembled, not disassembled!
If I remember correctly, I had to ping the mirror out without cracking it, lever the cowl off it's lugs, fit the new integrated lens/bulb then press it all back together.
Youtube is your friend... 👍

I think they're all the same nowadays. My Qashqai went last year, I couldn't find the exact one so I bought a pair of new flash units, one went okay (eventually), the other side the cowl broke on one of the lugs and won't hold together properly, currently held together with a bit of gaffer tape.

I am officially a hero

I have fixed the clock in the dining room

OK - maybe it was partially my fault it was broken as I knocked it off the wall a while ago but that is irrelevant

anyway - I put it back together and it seemed OK but it stopped
changed the battery and that didn;t help

so today I decided to look at it a bit closer and maybe see if I could order a replacement clocky bit

took the battery out and checked it - it was fine
put it back in and noticed that the hands were a bit bent and might be interfering with each other
also - looking at the battery it did seem different - almost as if it might be the other way round from before??

anyway - it is working now - so my wife thanked me

she is good at sarcasm

My wife is very good at giving praise when I fix something, but, manages to say it in a tone of incredulity, which somehow waters down the praise 😊
