Back home from London. Ours was the first Weymouth train to leave after the previous three were cancelled due to the storm causing a tree to fall on the line. I was expecting it to be rammed but everyone was able to find a seat. The train guard announced that due to circumstances it was now an " open " train and people could sit in first class without requiring a first class ticket. Coming through the New Forest the ground was flooded for miles around. So lovely to finally turn the key in the lock, whack the heating up and knock together beans on toast followed by a box of mince pies between us. Diet starts tomorrow...... 😁

I am officially a hero

I have fixed the clock in the dining room

OK - maybe it was partially my fault it was broken as I knocked it off the wall a while ago but that is irrelevant

anyway - I put it back together and it seemed OK but it stopped
changed the battery and that didn;t help

so today I decided to look at it a bit closer and maybe see if I could order a replacement clocky bit

took the battery out and checked it - it was fine
put it back in and noticed that the hands were a bit bent and might be interfering with each other
also - looking at the battery it did seem different - almost as if it might be the other way round from before??

anyway - it is working now - so my wife thanked me

she is good at sarcasm
