Bonjour. Wet and windy so far but apparently the worst is to come this afternoon with storm Bert paying us a visit with heavy rain and up to 70 mph wind.
Mrs G needs new slippers so we might go out this morning and then stay by the wood burner when Bert comes

Good morning all, horrible wet snow falling heavily here, looks very uninviting. Should be gone by afternoon.
And in other news, we’re all a bit annoyed here. We had a council by election last week, one mainstream party campaigned heavily their main argument being that their candidate lives locally. She won and posed for photo’s. Now it transpires that just one week later she has resigned and is moving to Dubai ! Her house went up for sale the day after she was elected. So plans for this move must have been well underway all the time she was campaigning and posing for photo’s. Talk about brass neck. I can’t imagine that her party are going to get any votes at all in the further by election that she has triggered.

Even following the election timetable doesn't allow for her, and the rest of her team, not knowing she'd not be there to take her seat.
Forty days since they announced the by-election, twenty seven days for her to withdraw from it and still allow it to go ahead but with no-one else from her party allowed to replace her.
