Just had homemade brocoli and Stilton soup. Lovely.

Tried to catch the bus into town but the roads and therefore the buses were in complete chaos, in fact the entire bus fleet was in the process of being taken out of service I learned upon my return. I walked about half way into town and then decided to abandon the idea. Walked back along the canal, seeing a kingfisher along the way. Returning via the Water of Leith railway path I met the WoL Half Marathon, it’s a club event that has been running for decades, starts in Balerno and follows the WoL down presumably to the Forth. What a foul day for it ! And I’ve just seen posted on FB that one of the coaches used to take them to the start has ended up slid off the road and half in a ditch.
It has now stopped snowing and the temperature is up to 3°. The buses still aren’t running.

Storm Berts arrival means that the wind farms will be cranking out loads of electricity. Just had an email from Octopus saying that there's free* electricity between 7 and 9 O'clock in the morning.
* anything above what you usually use at that time. I shall turn off the gas heating / hot water and fire up the immersion heater and electric stove and fan heaters.

The man said it is.

That does seem incredibly cheap for seasoned wood. Does he do free delivery to the Lake District I wonder.

I do like Samsung items. I've always had Samsung tablets and phones.

Easy to connect my old Samsung to the S9 and transfer all the data. It even set itself up on my WiFi. And I can give it up to 1Tb of memory. Try doing that with an apple tablet

I love my iPad, but it just makes sense since the rest of my stuff is Apple. My main telly is a Samsung and it’s been excellent.

Just finished watching “Joy” on Netflix about the first test tube baby. Really enjoyed it and a good cast.

I'm not into this Android v Apple malarkey. If it works, and if someone else is paying, I'll have it. Some folk get really territorial over it, whichnwith allnthenresth and misery in the world seems a daft thing to get excited over.

I don’t really care either, but it just makes sense to stick with one or the other for making everything sync easily. Also, you get used to the operating system. For some reason I never got on with Android the few times I did try it.

An Apple iPad will transfer from an old unit to a new one automagically. They don't take memory cards but you can get them with 1 Tb of high speed storage. Set you back about £1800 or thereabouts ( that's about 20 pairs of good quality jeans ) 😁
