Two inches of snow and everything comes to a standstill. Melting slowly...

Stopped earlier than forecast, and the promised rain never showed.

We have about 1½ inches of soft snow. Most of the schools are closed because staff cannot get in and school buses aren't running. One cited Chorley being gridlocked.

If I'm honest I feel it's nonsense. I know, I know........when I was a lad we set off at 3.00am and walked 12 miles in a blizzard.

Today there's no reason not to travel. If SP wasn't here I'd be out and about.

When my grandson opened his door to go to work at 5 o'clock this morning, there was a cardboard box left on his doorstep.
In it were five puppies and sadly one was dead. Some bastard just put them there and walked away.
His girl friend took them to the vet and she was told they were only 2 weeks old as their eyes were not opened yet.
It really makes me sad and angry that people can do such a thing,

My turn for the school run today. I park half a mile away and enjoy walking nearer to the village centre and watching people attempt to find a parking space near the school 😂

Sadist 😂

I do enjoy that as well

I've been here long enough now that I recognise the driveways the cars come from, and most live closer than I do and it only takes me 13 mminutes. Hell, you can see some of their houses from the school!

This morning the grass and tops of the cars were all covered in snow
The roads and pavements were all clear - not by salt just no cold enough for it to survive

it does seem cold out - heating has not managed to get the lounge up to the set temperature all day - although SWMBO does insist of all the upstairs doors being open so the air can circulate which keeps the house warmer
I disagree but what do I know!!!

anyway - we are short of milk so I may brave the weather and nip out!

I have been gifted a Dreamland heated throw. Looks to be well made but I've not fired it up yet.
Invited to lunch at the local Toby Carvery, helped myself to a very good selection of veg, red and green cabbage, sprouts, carrots and peas with cauliflower cheese, dauphinois potatoes, macaroni cheese and Yorkshire pudding 😎
