All this talk of carpets, our new stairs and landing carpet is being fitted on Friday. I took the original up myself before the decorator arrived a week or so ago. Just been screwing down the squeaky floorboards. The lino in our small bathroom is being replaced too so today's job has been ripping the old stuff out along with the hardboard over the floorboards. Original lino only looks to be a couple of mil thick, the replacement will be cushioned, and we've gone for a high quality carpet with top of the range underlay. Just need to fix the squeaky floorboards in the bathroom and wash everything down.

A grandson dropped in on his way to Aber to see his twin brother. Stuffed his face, had a cup of tea and now he has disappeared again. :laugh:

Maybe depends on the area - this was Bangor - so quite close to Druid country

and when I was training to teach some of the Welsh people mentioned "activities in the hills that maybe we shouldn;t mention"

no idea what they were going on about - but I heard it mentioned several times over the years
