Getting old but not past it

Bonjour. I was watching Ben Fogle last night when he re visiting those two men in America. Last time he saw them, they were 72 years old and pretty fit and healthy. Now, they are 82, look old and frail.
It got me thinking that I am 74 now, fit and healthy and hope I will still be when I am 84. Ageing can be depressing but there is not much you can do to prevent it.

Planning to go for a ride after walking Molly this morning to take my mind off this getting old business.

We had a quote to renew the carpet in our lounge. It is 4 metres x 4 metres and the cost is £350 fitted, without underlay as there is one already.
We noticed someone on Facebook advertising £220 fitted for the same size room. We will give him a ring this morning.

I'd be careful the carpet they're offering is of equal quality. I always fit my own ( never bothered with underlay, I just but thicker carpet, you don't get the sumptuousness but we've always found it ok) but you can see what looks like the same carpet but of differing thicknesses.

If your underlay is as old as your carpet I suggest you replace it. A good underlay makes a massive difference.

Yes, we are aware of that so we intend to look at what he has to offer first.
