Good morning, another grey day. Last night Mrs Tkk and I watched the documentary " Endurance " about Shackleton's expedition to the Antarctic. The hardships they overcame would defy belief if recounted today.

Good morning once again, off to see my friends at the hospital again today, I really enjoy seeing them all as they were such a huge support to me during a very hard time. I am also donating some of Pam's clothes to the burns unit there, the time has come to start sorting out and making sure others more needy can benefit from them. Going to be a bit emotional but rewarding at the same time.

It's Thursday, so my "day off." Once I've walked Mini D tomschool and exercised Bruce I'll do an hour on the bass and chill out a bit, maybe catch up on my reading.

Good morning all, another autumnal grey, cool start to the day.
I've got a nurse appointment this afternoon at the doctors surgery for a check up, as I am classed as long term ill. It will be a blood pressure check, which is under control and weight, which is coming down.

Another one with a Nurse appointment, today, this morning for me.

I don't know if it is a national thing, but, once you are over 70, our GP surgery do a "health check" annually, (they call it Year of Health, at the moment, but, it has had various names over the years).

After my last check (about a month ago, the very next day, I received a text asking me to make an appointment with the Nurse. First appointment I could get was almost 3 weeks away, so, I assumed whatever it they thought was wrong with me was not life threatening.

In the meantime, I checked the NHS App for my test results and consulted Daughter No1 (a Nurse Practitioner), who told me that they re probably going to tell me that I am "pre-diabetic", whatever that may mean.

I will soon be joining your hallowed ranks so look forward to chronicling my daily activities. I'm currently on notice of redundancy with an end date of 31 January. However this is not a bad thing for me, as I am able to take my pension (albeit several years 'early') and become, by definition, retired rather than jobless. I may seek some further employment but it's not an imperative and I'll probably just see how the wind blows.

I'm looking forward to finally getting around to it, for all those tasks currently on hold because "work gets in the way". I'm anticipating that my fleet of bikes will never have been cleaner or more well-tinkered with. The house will sparkle and everything will work as intended. The dog will wonder what's hit him, although as a youngster I'm sure he'll lap up the long walks with cafe stops.

Or I'll laze in bed, watch daytime TV and moan about the weather. At least I have my health.
