No knocks at the door here either. If they did I would probably be so shocked I would drop dead and not be able to spend it!

Quick put me in your Will.:laugh::laugh:

Our daughter sent me a birthday card 1st class last Monday from Devon. Hasn't arrived yet.

The post is dreadful these days. We seem to have one young lad doing deliveries for half the town. They’ve lost a lot of their staff after changing their hours. They used to start really early and get finished up early afternoon. Now it’s often between 2 and 3 before we even see them.

This just popped up on my FB feed. So tempting !

My first day in retirement after 42 years in the same industry.

Myself, Mrs TB and our dog have been on a lovely 4 hour walk on the edge of Exmoor and back along the coast, with a rather tasty lunchtime stop (sausage and mash and a pint of cider).

Good stuff!

Welcome to your Golden Years!

Mind you, we had our first post in three weeks (apart from the inevitable junk mail) yesterday. And that was just one letter.

As an aside, the letter was a complete waste of time & money: I received an email earlier in the week from the NHS advising me of a routine urology check-up later this month, this was fine. But someone has also typed a long letter, printed it out, put it in an envelope and franked it, to tell me the same thing, but using more words. Bonkers!

I now believe there is not a daily service.I cannot tell you how great a job it was when i began in January 1972.You lot had TWO deliveries a day.Mail posted in Leeds and picked up in the eight am collection was out and delivered before 13-00 five days a week in Leeds suburbs, Saturday being the only day with one delivery.Blame the Government all three parties because the Lib-Dems had their say also.
