I’ve given in and stuck the hall storage heater on. We seem to have a maximum of 12 degrees during the day from now on and a few nights when it’s to get down to low single figures. No point in feeling chilly when I have enough credit to cover it.

I was in bed for around 6 hours but it didn’t seem impressed with the quality last night. Coincidentally, I ate too much in the evening. Always seems to affect my sleep.

I actually don’t even notice it. My Garmin actually feels heavier. I switch it to cinema mode overnight so don’t even see any light from unless I tap the screen to have a look at the time.

Back from shopping. My wallet is lighter now. I splashed out and bought myself some new socks from Aldi. 3 pairs for £2.99 so I bought 2 lots.

Now sitting here with a cup of coffee and a chicken and stuffing sandwich.

I paid over thirty quid for my last 3 pairs. I like decent socks with the amount of walking/jogging I do. I think all mine are now either Balega or Bridgedale.

Hiking socks are a crazy price these days. Mrs SD got me some 3 season Bridgedales that you can wear high or low, as an Xmas stocking filler. £19.95!

Sounds expensive but I think it’s worth it in the long run. I’ve had cheap socks that are almost worn through within a few long walks.

Yes, I agree. I once succumbed to some cheapo Trespass socks and not too many hikes later they needed binning.
