TO be honest I never wanted kids - ended up with one by "accident" that I suspect was no accident (long story!)
but all this feeling of wanting children and even being desperate for them - is totally foreign to me

and now have my wife's grandkids as grandkids

seems like I am "good with kids" and they generally like me and accept them if I insist on rules.

but I have no real feeling of wanting kids of my own - but I like the ones that appear

grandkids are clearly better as you get to give them back!

Your kids will be old enough to hand back to their other halves by now, surely!

one of my twin grandsons has bought himself a new (ish) VW scirocco. He is in love as it has all singing and dancing lights inside it. Its better than his Subaru Imprezza.

😁. Its 3. He got a £90 rebate. And the scirocco does more than double the MPG, and the tax is £20 a year's as opposed to £50 a month. So it's a win win

I knew from a young age I never wanted kids! I really have no patience for them. I’d probably have ended up in the jail as an inmate rather than an officer.

We will meet a (first) great grandchild later in the year.

Mrs SD is already fretting over how to feign enthusiasm and excitement.

I don't think she is pleased to be a great granny at 61 either!

Think I've said it before but as soon as we were married (aged 21 & 19). We wanted children. Some heartache but so much pleasure.
Certainly not for everyone though.
