Good morning all, cool, grey and breezy just now, due to turn warmer, wet and windy by lunchtime.
A birdwatching account that I follow on FB reports that a swallow was spotted locally yesterday, so I will keep my eyes peeled. I’m also listening out for willow warblers, haven’t heard one yet.

I thought I got a glimpse of a lone one yesterday but it was too far away to see if it was a Swallow or a House Martin. Quite early for us if it was.

Just back from a run over the heathland. There's been a bit of tree clearing since I was last over there. Run included a long hill covered in soft sand before cresting the ridge and heading past the entrance to the Crematorium. The rain held of and it was pleasant weather. In other news, Mrs Tkk is peeling some just boiled beetroot 😎

I eat the skin from cooked beetroot, I find it's one of the skins you don't notice when eating it.

We have the grand-kids - stayed overnight

Little one was talking/shouting in his sleep a lot from about 2 until 4 and then slowly calmed down

so I am knackered!!!
eventually my wife's snoring probably drowned it out so I couldn;t hear it and as I am used to her night-time noises I fell asleep

oldest came in to get me at 8 a.m. but I have heard the patter of tiny feet (i.e. loud heavy thudding) of the elder two for a while!

we were going to go for a walk but it look kinda wet out there so a trip to the shops seems likely

School holidays are FAR too long
and yes - I did say that when I was a teacher - just not so often!

Just been to Aldi. 0900 really seems to be the time to go.
Once again they had run out of one of the items on my list......bad planning somewhere along the line.

I nipped along to ours for a few bits and pieces too. Got a pack of diced chicken and a stir fry pack as I have a notion for a stir fry. Got another 4 cartons of their oat milk too, plus I noticed tomato and chorizo soup so got a couple to stick in the cupboard. More blueberries to add to my porridge too.

A longish dog walk was had although like many places the fields are still sodden.
Just about got the washing dry and indoors, and now it's starting to rain. :rain: Phew.
I did a little bit of fettling on the Falcon and swept out the shed. So not a unproductive morning.

I like a stir fry but find the packs just too big for me. And if I add water chestnuts and bamboo chutes it's waaay too big.

The Grandkids are still here

I have banned playing Snap as there are too many arguments

anyone ever tried to persuade an autistic 7 year old not to look at his card before playing it????
OK - he isn;t all that far down the spectrum but he has other problems (getting away with too much due the autism being one of them) but Snap was one big argument and was leading to potential hitting and crying
not sure whether it would have been the kids crying or me
but anyway
Snap is banned!
