Early Retirement Planning
Good morning folks, daughter and granddaughter arrived back from Girona yesterday. I used " FlightRadar " to track their journey in real time all the way into Bournemouth. Looking forward to catching up and hearing of their adventures. Mrs Tkk and I were late to the " Race around the World " TV program having only watched the last series set in Canada. We watched the first episode of the new series set in Japan last night. It's edited well, making the mundane seem nail-biting and steering the viewers to liking / disliking various characters so you remain engaged. Meanwhile I am off out on the Brommie soon, need to get more time on the bike as both Mrs Tkk and myself will be at the Brompton World Championship event in London in a couple of months 😎

Never watched it, nor intend to, but why is it Race Around The World when it seems to be set in one country?

Morning all :hello:

Dull and misty here at the end of the known world.
A motorhome arrived last night and pitched up next to us, but they have been very quiet.
Off to Sennen Cove this morning with lunch on the way back.

Nice quiet day today

DO have to sort out and print the paperwork for a weekend away
It is a Murder Weekend thingy at a hotel in Cheshire
should be interesting as it is a present for my wife's sister and her husband
husband is the thickest person I have ever met - which takes some doing but he clears the car easily!
he also cannot hold his drink and gets loud and thicker (which takes some doing!) after only one pint
so trying to get him to be part of a team without commenting "OH - SO IT'S FRED AND MARY WORKING TOGETHER" at full volume will be interesting
I have found that the trick is to find it funny

he is used to being laughed at so that's OK - even his kids - who love him - gave up years ago!

should be interesting!

Morning all.
Once again the "Retired" thread had disappeared only to tell me it was on 'ignore'. I realise it's possible to touch the ignore button by mistake but it happens too often for that.
Anyone else affected by this or is CC trying to tell me something

OK people, own up, who organised a whip-around to bribe Shaun to put Dave on Ignore? ;)

They have heats in various countries with the Finals held in London. It's a great " Fun " event around a closed circuit. Most people take the opportunity to dress up a bit as one of the rules is " No visible Lycra ". The people up the sharp end are " serious " cyclists, David Millar was competing on the previous occasion that I did it. A lot of people " Bling up " their Brommies and It's great to meet up with people from around the world and there's various fun challenges such as who can hold a static stand for the longest, who can fold the bike in the fastest time.
It's not a broadcast event so you woulnd't have watched it unless you happened across the Brompton YouTube channel.
This is the official video of the last event pre Covid ( I happen to feature in it toward the end )

The first programme was London to Somewhere in Greece, programme 2 was across Canada. Programme 3 was from North Africa to Finland.
Programme 4 starts in Japan and finishes on an island off of Indonesia.

Pies?

I'm still waiting.
So tired
Tired of waiting
Tired of waiting for pies.
Now they're his pies
And he can do what he wants
Do as he likes but please don't keep me waiting.

Sorry, got carried away.

No pies today
the pieman has run away........

I see three pies sailing by
on Christmas day in the morning......
