Suppose they would like to be able to see what the matter was if it developed a fault up the line.
Meanwhile at Peterborough station

That kind of thing gets the enthusiasts SOOOOOO AAAAAANNNNNNGGGGGGGRRRRYYY here, it's almost funny.
Possibly the cab has direct access to the passenger section.
Not so concerned about that. The graffiti artists appear to have left the lifting point logo unmolested, and the door contrast is still acceptable at eye level and above (probably deliberately, otherwise the train may not be allowed back into service). What I am concerned about is the driver's emergency egress from the cab. Assuming that the window can be pushed out / fully opened, the available aperture for the driver to escape via seems a little small.
Usually the important bits are cleanted quickly so the trian can ger back into service; some freight wagon companys seem to use sticky back panels and stick them over the graffiti.
What astonishes me is the the amount of money people have to spray other people's property; those cans come in at nearly 10€ a pop. I'm also mystified by the sense of entitlement someone must have to damage someone else's property. I'm sure the people saying it's okay would change their mind if it was their car.
