Yeah those blue and white 'Twotters' are such a common sight. I was on the train once (a class 320 (Scotrail)) heading west to Dumbarton and watched as one flew parallel to us, it seemed almost as though we'd out pace the poor thing, but gradually, it caught up and drifted past. It was all so slow though! 😆

The Twin Otter and the Shorts Skyvan are the only aircraft known to have suffered a bird strike from behind ...

This just flew overhead… in fact it’s come back for a second run as I type this!

Couple of sightings late this afternoon...
Well, first was heard, a helicopter out of sight but ADSB tells me it was an Apache, out of a Norfolk airfield, did a run up to just south of Newark, across a bit then down past Peterborough.
Later as we walked the grandkids to the park....oooooh, a B1 Lancer, unmistakable, swept wing, relatively slow and banking north west. First one I ever saw.
And maybe 15 minutes later, a twin engine boeing or airbus, lowish, headed in the same direction as the B1. Probably military because you never see then that low, travelling in that direction.

Sat on Mablethorpe beach, what appears to be a couple F18 Hornets flying around for the last hour.
Couple of Eurofighters are showing south of here, but these F18s ? are not showing at all on ADSB

Lovely old Dakota just flew over headed south.
I suspect living near the A1 gives us more opportunity to see such aircraft.
Lanc, spits, hurricanes, emergency helicopters quite often, all sorts of stuff seem to use it (the A1) as a visual navigation reference.
