It feels strange. He was never "my" cat but as he was Mrs Noodley's cat before I met her 13 years ago. But he and I got on well...he would usually lumber up onto my lap and sit there as I typed onto the computer which is balanced on the arm of the sofa...or cuddle up against me on the sofa.

I keep looking down to see where he is.

I have a lump in my throat...

This might make you smile Noodley.... knowing cat's as I do, the getting onto your lap when you have the computer near by will be the bloody exhaust of hot air from the CPU cooling system.... I know......!!!! You know !!! Cheeky buggers they are !

Careful, waffly. It could be a fur ball.

I've always loved cats. Had them since I was a kid. My sister has 2 cats, but they are a bit boisterous and their jumping around freaked my kids out when they were young. Now they're terrified of cats and won't go anywhere near them.

It's a bit early to say, we have another cat and a dog who are best of mates. Not sure if t'other cat will be okay with her doggy pal or miss Hamish big time...

I miss him, as he's usually sitting on my lap when I am on the forum.

really sorry to hear that Noodley I dread the day that I lose Peanut . 16 is a really good age and it sounds to me like every day your boy would have felt how special he was.

Kittens do nowt for my health.

I hate bitchy, narky, aggresive cats but chilled relaxed adults aren't too bad.

My Dad says a Cat is like a woman; lovely and soft on the outside but below her exterior those 'claws' can do some serious damage

I think you should call it Cyclec(h)at.

That's what i think. What about a name proposal competition, with me (if there's any justice left in this crazy world) being the winner?

Yes, possibly.

I wanted to call Leo, Reg, short for Reyjavik, but then it would be "Reck". Perhaps something from Scandinavia or South America - oh yes Paddington (as in Bear) he was from Peru.

Wow how things have changed: I remember it as:
* Go out to yard and see cat.
* Say "hello cat"
* See it second day and rub it's head.
* Tell mates down the pub you have a cat.
* Bury a real friend 13 years later.
