I just made it into November, after a number of illnesses in the household. To be honest I wasn't in the best shape on the ride and pushed a bit more than I should have. I'd agreed to meet a mate 60km in for lunch and didn't want to keep him waiting, forgetting I'd front loaded the climbing on the ride to the first half (around the Chilterns). The roads were pretty filthy although it was warm enough for shorts. Pizza picked me up for the second half but sat heavily after a further 40mins on the bike with the urge to throw up.

Hoping to get out on the club run on Sunday to finish off the year which will be faster and easier to end the year!

Right, I've just been on RWGPS and have planned a 100k ride that has as much climbing (800-odd metres) in its entire length as my failed 50km ride yesterday. Flatty McFlatface (except for necessary London escape climbing). Surely I can fit that in.

That's really what I should have done yesterday, considering that I wasn't feeling good and weather forecast wasn't good.

Still coughing though.

Just back from my December's metric ton so Im done for another year , Dismal dank conditions lights on all the way round I think I did spot the ☀️ at one point but it soon hid behind the next cloud . Bike was filthy lucky I have a hose pipe right by the front door so as soon as I finish the ride bike gets a quick hose down . Well done @UphillSlowly who beat me to the post for 2nd finisher

December's ride done. That's 120 contiguous months of at least one metric century, which is pretty pleasing. It's actually 122, but I wasn't recording things here in 2014. All audax AAA rides too, which is my 'real' objective.

Today was perma-mist, with visibility around 30-40m on all the high ground, with just one, rather lovely, period of 'sunshine through mist with multiple layers of hills receding into the distance', and such good, inspirational stuff. Also a fun temperature ranging all the way from 1C to 3C. No actual rain though :-)

I shall have to actively stop this run at some point, ideally before actually failing! Not yet though; I'll be in for next year.

I am putting off the bike cleaning until tomorrow! Today I finally visited the National Cyclists Memorial in Meriden (which is apparently the historic centre of England)

Meridian used to be a regular destination for us Leicester folk but a combination of the bridge work and then HS2 works to the south putting in diversion normally down busy main roads made route planning difficult so I have been avoided the area
