These things take time. I've been adding stuff to my Cordings basket, then taking stuff out and adding more, then more or less emptying it then starting again, but I think I've decided on these two items to buy. I've decided on a straight hem for the wine coloured cords as my two other pairs of Cordings cords have cuffed/turned up hems. I've decided on cuffs for the chocolate tweeds because I don't have a pair of tweed trousers with cuffs. My colour choices have been influenced by variety of trouser colours. If I buy those two pairs I'll have a bottle green pair of cords, a terracotta pair and a wine coloured pair. If I buy the chocolate tweeds I'll have a tan pair, a beige pair, a navy blue pair and the chocolate pair. This will mean seven pairs of autumn/winter trousers, with no pairs matching another pair's colour.

I'm not too sure now about buying the above. I always plan/look ahead to the next season. In 12 weeks time it'll be spring and hopefully warming up. Buying more winter pants, when I already have 6 pairs is maybe not a sensible thing to do. I'm now thinking about buying corduroy pants more suitable for spring and summer. I've put these in a basket. https://www.brooktaverner.co.uk/checkout/cart/?___SID=U 🤔

I've had my eye on these for a while. The other night I tried to order a pair in a 32 waist, 32.5 inseam, but the Cordings site was playing up. The following day I tried again only to see they'd sold out of them in my 32 waist, probably due to their sale starting that day. Ah well, it's not the end of the world.

I'm into Fair Isle jumpers at the moment. This one is nice, but I don't fancy paying £170 for one. I bought a Fair Isle sleeveless jumper earlier in the year from the retro clothing shop I work in for about £15. I'll keep looking online for one, maybe paying £70 maximum.

Firstly, let me say that I enjoy reading about your adventures into the world of stylish clothing but here’s a question for you. You would not be willing to pay £170 for a FairIsle jumper which you already have one of but you were keen to pay £175 for yet another pair of trousers of which I’m sure you have many. You could try and convince yourself that you ‘saved’ £175 by not buying the trousers and spend that money on the jumper and thereby ending up in a break-even position.

Yes, I do that quite often. I see not buying something as saving up, even being given the amount of money I didn't spend, to spend on something else. It's a weird way of looking at things, but it helps with my sanity. Fancying a Fair Isle jumper is my latest 'Let's spend hours looking online for.......' obsession. I can't just buy for example a jumper. I have to analyse the various designs, prices, offers, sizes, delivery methods (avoid EVRI if I can :stop:), what the garments are made out of, put stuff in their baskets, take stuff out the basket, maybe put it back in, etc etc. Buying an item has been known to take around 2 months!
