I've also had a slight eye on these for a few years now. Mmm, maybe they're a bit too

Be OK as a suit, but not so sure just as trousers, despite Rupert Bear's likely approval

You can get/buy the suit, as there's a jacket, waistcoat and even a flat cap in that pattern. I thought about buying the whole suit, plus the cap, but at around £1000 for the lot I could get a made to measure suit made that'd fit my odd shape perfectly for the same price! There's a tailor in nearby Blackburn who reportedly makes quality material and quality cut, sewn, stitched etc suits for around £1000, so If I did want a suit I'd probably go to him. I doubt I'd wear a suit though. Yes, maybe if I lived in some quaint little town or village where no one would mind and it'd get many compliments, but in the Accrington area...er maybe not!! Even simple tweed pants, brogues and a complimenting, but not matching sports jacket combination can get you some odd looks and comments around here!

If I do buy those chocolate coloured tweed pants I'd like another pair of braces. I only have 1 pair of braces for what'll be 4 pairs of held up by braces trousers. They'd have to be the leather loops over the trouser's buttons type like the pair I have now, not those clip on ones. I do like Cordings stuff, but at £80 I think there'll be just as good ones out there for less than half of that amount.

I wonder if these will be ok? 🤔

A 40? Blimey, Accy, are you the son of Kate Moss? A 52 is tight on me.

Ha. Last jacket I bought was a 36. I'm a 38 if I'm wearing a jumper.

Ummm, I know I am probably setting myself up for ridicule here, but I am currently looking about for new trousers, namely for my Curling malarkey, so neither fashionable or stylish, more just functional.

Anyway, I see that Asham, a Canadian company which have actually been quite good to me in the past (they are family run, so I've dealt with them personally) are selling these in their sale. Now I know other makes are cheaper, but, hey ho.

They do not have my size in the men's version, but they do in the woman's one, so my question is this, as I've never really thought about it much...

What is the actual difference between a man's and woman's size? Is here any really? I know body shape and so on is not the same, but is there any great difference in the great scheme of things if I have a belt or whatever?

Thanks

They look exactly the same to me. Maybe the women's are slightly wider in the hip. 🤔

Very little difference as long as your mens size is translatable to a womens size, waist and inseam etc.

No ridicule here ;)
