Looks a bit big on the shoulders and would look better with the collar up IMO, looks a quality coat though.
Yeah, that's a problem I have with all coats and jackets due to my right shoulder being quite forward (dislocated looking) which is a result of my head and neck cancer up' 16 years ago. I can't do much about it. I suppose I could have jackets and coats tailored to hide it, but that'd cost a fair bit and be too much of a hassle. I'll try it with the collar up tomorrow and see how it looks. I'm tempted to buy it, but do I need ANOTHER coat to add to the must be 10 I have already.

It's quite heavy too, weighing 6lb/2.7kg.

What do you think about this sheepskin coat? It was made by Austin Read, with 'made in Sweden' inside the coat. It's quite old, probably 1970's or 80's. The owner of the shop I work in wants £50 for it, which isn't bad for such a coat.

No, too big for you and you're not John Motson....

It doesn't feel too big, in fact it's just about big enough on my back. I wore it today and I'd say with a fairy thick jumper underneath it might be a slight bit tight. As I said earlier it looks big on the shoulders due to my shoulder deformity. I might take it back yet as I don't know if sheepskin fits my look. 🤔

My seamaster pullover arrived today. I forgot to apply the discount code, losing 8 quid, but I can live with that as the pullover fits very well, especially in the arm length! I was worried it might not be long enough for my 25 inch arms, but it is and I could even turn the sleeves up an inch or so if I wanted to.

Crikey it even comes with a Merchant Navy boarding pass, you need a beige duffle coat now to go with it

I see you're following a fine example, who after all, has had tea with our late Queen. You've even got much the same hat

Joking aside, I think I'd quite like a duffel coat. When I had one as a kid, it was hard to get one with a satisfactory hood. With many of them if you wore the hood it would only come half way over your head and / or the whole weight of the coat would hang on your head rather than your shoulders. Mmm, wonder if my old duffle coat is still at my dad's ? That said, can't remember if I still wore it as a sixth former or at uni, so may not fit me, and that's quite apart from clothes shrinking round the middle if left in the wardrobe for any length of time. Even my leather motorbike bike jacket shrunk after less than twenty years.

I have an oatmeal coloured one (not too great a pic' below) and a ginger/brown one, but I think it'd look better with a navy blue one. 🤔

My two wool duffle coats aren't as warm as my tweed/wool overcoats and don't have an inside pocket to put my phone in, unlike most of my overcoats. Yes I know, most if not all were made way before anyone owned a 'mobile phone', but it's still a problem having to keep my phone in my pants pocket, as putting it in the big duffle coat outside ones could mean me losing it when I sit down and the phone could drop out. Also they are not too warm where the toggles overlap, due to wind getting in through the things being too loose. I'm not a hood wearer either, so the hood is pointless to me, though the ginger/brown one didn't have a hood with it when I bought it. Both are ok in the early autumn, but not after I've found, unless worn with many woolen layers like I did yesterday and even then, still a bit :cold: maybe.
