Bin wouldn't be nearly as full if you could be bothered to crush your cans!

What’s that a Euphemism for ? ^_^.
No euphemism at all, simply standard practice at Manoir du Braconnier, not that I'd manage to fill a wheelie bin to the brim with uncrushed cans, let alone post a boast online!

As I understand it, uncrushed recycling is preferred by the recycler: easier to deal with.

I don't think it matters, Eddy Current Separators sort into 3 streams- Ferrous, Non ferrous metals and other non metals crap.

Crushed will allow a larger amount of unsorted recycling per lorry load so probably marginally better to crush.

@Poacher Mad Squirrel is just up the road from us. Not the cheapest but very good beer. The also have the odd Tap room in local towns.

it's a bit difficult to see, but just below my finger is a blemish, caused by a jumping up dog in the local park. I'm not blaming the dog as it's quite friendly and dogs do such things, but its owners seemed to find it funny! Yes, the scruffy twats would do wouldn't they! 🧐 They know I'm fussy about such things! I'm wondering how to pay them back. 🤔 I know where they tend to park their car. I'm thinking about chucking something on it. Any suggestions as to what I could use?🧐

I'm always mortified when our dog decides to try and make a new friend. Not everyone he approaches is as understanding as you @Accy cyclist , with good reason.

I could do with a pair of them, I can can think of a few people that could do with a good kick up the arse!

I've just polished another pair of shoes outside my flat. These are the Loake 1880 loafers I had fitted with rubber soles the other month.

Since having those rubber soles put on, I've worn these shoes quite a lot. Whereas when they had leather soles I hardly wore them due to fearing slipping, especially in wet conditions which made the shoes treacherous!

On the topic of shoe polishing.

Mmm, I wonder how you apply to compete in the competition? 🤔

I'm just happy with a shine that gives off a reflection. I don't think I've ever achieved a true 'mirror shine'. 🤔 🧐

I believe the ideal training for such an event would have to be being a National Service conscript, if your efforts weren't up to muster, the corporals would launch the offending footwear out the window and across the parade square, would seem to be an effective method to ensure it's done correctly!

Yes, my dad did his 2 years National Service from 1951 to 1953, mainly in Hong Kong at the time of the Korean War. He was an avid shoe polisher who made sure me and brother had very shiny shoes for school, days out, doctors visits etc. I kept that 'must have shiny shoes' thought in my head from day one and still have it. Unlike my brother who's a right scruffy git and has most likely never polished a pair of shoes since leaving school in the mid 1970's! 🧐
