Borsalino hats, worn by the likes of Johnny Depp and David Bowie (well, at least when he was alive...if you know what I mean!;)) according to this video.

£269 for a felt hat?🤔 Ok if you're a famous 'movie star' or a famous singer with bottomless pockets!

One of my collection is a charcoal fur felt Borsalino that I bought while feeling flush a few years ago. It’s a thing of beauty.

Would you say it's better quality than cheaper similar hats? I ask because the video seems to suggest Borsalino hats aren't as well made these days as they were in the past.🤔 I've also heard/read that only 'proper' fedoras and trilbies are made of fur felt, not wool. I have three trilbies, all wool ones. I feel ok wearing wool, but not too sure about fur felt, which I assume means animals are killed to provide that fur felt.

The quality is pretty good, although my favourite is actually a cheaper British made sporting trilby but I've forgotten the maker.

Judging your grammar
The fur for felt comes from rabbits which are killed for meat. So if you‘re alright with using leather from cows...

I ordered the burgundy hat today.

I was a bit doubtful as with most of my coats being different shades of brown, they won't go too well with burgundy. I have a green/brown tweed overcoat which is a better match, but I did fancy a navy overcoat to go with the burgundy hat. Low and behold I found one in the retro clothing shop today. It's a decent fit and the coat weighs an impressive 5.2 pounds/2.35 kilos in weight and a long 49 inches in length, which takes it to approximately 8 inches below the middle of my kneecap. The coat also has a surprisingly long enough for my 25 inch arms, arm length. I usually try on retro clothing and charity shop jackets and coats only to find them 2 or 3 inches too short in the arm.

There isn't a name/label in the coat, so I don't know who made it or what it's made from.🤔 I'm guessing that it's at least 80% wool, if not 100%.

My daughter has a friend who self describes as being vegetarian, though she does eat chicken…

Have you questioned her about this?
If so can't help but wonder if you faced a roasting from the "self-described"
