I'm scared to ask where the hose comes in

All good clean fun.

I think I'll leave that typo there. 🤣

Fabulous with a horse , much less so without one. IMO of course.
I showed the link https://www.lechameau.com/jameson-m..._source=google&utm_medium=surfaces&utm_campai to the bloke who owns the retro clothing shop I work in today. As soon as he saw the pic' he said "No. All you'll get is where've you parked your horse'! I value his opinion as he's bought and sold clothes here and there for a living for decades. I thought I'd leave it till I sought his opinion and I'm glad I did. He did say though "If you feel a need to buy tuck your pants in type boots why not buy a pair of Hunter wellies".

These are in navy blue, instead of the usual olive green or black. Do I need them? No, but I have an itch that needs scratching!🧐

I love the 'waterproof' symbol. It's a wellington boot, made for repelling water! Do those who make airplanes say 'It flies' when selling them.

I had to stop watching. He’s very well and expensively turned out but somehow manages not to be stylish. He puts far to much emphasis on following rules over bending them, to allow a bit of individuality.

In my opinion he's too formal. Like you say well turned out, but all he seems to wear are formal grey and navy suits, with crisp white shirts. Maybe he should wear some smart but informal tweed with say pale blue or light brown shirts.🤔

I’m not a fan of white shirts. I only wear them with a dj, mess kit, or maybe if I’m going to a funeral. I much prefer pale colours (blue, pink or yellow), or patterns.

I find white shirts turn a bit yellow on the collar after a few wears. Even a hot wash and biological powder won't bring the collar white again. I prefer mid blue shirts. When they become a bit grubby around the collar, but ok elsewhere I do what I call a cheat wash and wipe the collar with a bit of watered down washing powder or liquid on a dishcloth.:secret:

How are you finding the Lanx a month in Accy?

Good thanks! No pain whatsoever. I succumbed to temptation and wore the chukka boots I was going to save till next year. I dug my 3 year old Loake Chelsea boots out yesterday. They aren't patent leather, but polished leather. I rubbed some black polish in, left them for an hour in a warm room then buffed them up. I know you aren't supposed to with them being black, but I do wear them with brown, blue, green tweed. Hey, why bother about that?! Men (and women) around here are still wearing those 'sliders' and socks, some even without socks! :stop:

OK, here's a challenge. I need some new shirts for work but I'm trying to buy clothes as ethical as possible, no sweatshops, minimal plastic, fair wages etc. Where's good for that sort of thing?

Ideally
  • Sustainable
  • Good labour policies, fair wages
  • Actually a decent proper shirt, none of that rough hessian hippy nonsense
  • Able to be worn with a tie
  • Slim fit
  • Proper colours, nothing white or pale blue
Any ideas? It doesn't seem to be an area that's catered for by the usual 'ethical' outfitters. They're all either really casual or hippy rubbish.

Charity shops? Bit time intensive hunting for stuff, but there are gems out there!

Patagonia? Maybe a bit out-doorsy.

Levi's are pretty good ethically.

Neem do smart looking stuff but are pricey.

Darcy Clothing in Lewes might fit the bill. Their farmers' shirts are good quality and, although placket front will work with a tie. Not slim fit.

Community Clothing? From memory only a few colours.
