There I was out yesterday when a woman asked me what 'aftershave' I wore. She said she'd sniffed me before and didn't like what I had on that day, but she liked the one I was wearing. I explained to her that I wear different fragrances depending on the weather/temperature, how I feel, what I'm wearing etc. I watch videos where it's said that you should find a 'signature fragrance and own it'. When out and about I smell the odd fragrance every now and then. I'm either going nose blind or as I suspect people aren't wearing 'fine fragrances' much these days.🤔

I bought two fine fragrance 'selfie' Christmas presents last night.

I bought a Floris travel pack of four 15ml bottles earlier this year. Out of those four the above two are my favourites. I'd prefer to buy the above in that 15ml size as then you can carry them in your pocket and top up your aroma while out on the go, while carrying a 100ml bottle around in your pocket is quite difficult.

'Ash' from the chaps guide to... hasn't posted a video for over a month.🤔 I wonder if he's ill, or has given up on it.🤔

I like his shed 'Oak Lodge', out in the wilderness as he puts it, but is it really out in the wilderness or all part of a scene/set for his videos?🤔 He makes out that he visits it to 'get away from it all'. If that was around here it would at least be broken into and at worst torched!

This.

Each to their own and that, but 100 sheets on a couple wee bottles of aftershave?! I thought the point of that stuff was to put it on, you know, after you'd shaved for a day long fragrance?

Well I've not shaved for about 15yrs now, last time was when I had to go to a family 'do' and my beard trimmer had given up the ghost so bought a pack of razors and set to. When Maz saw this her comment was "Don't ever do that again" and she bought me a new trimmer....Mind you my Mum and various Aunties said "Oh you look much better, now when are you gonna get your hair cut"

As for 'stinkies' I clearly remember when people (normally women but a few blokes too) were wearing so much that when they came near you could actually taste the 'per-fumes'.

It all smells vile and manufactured to me personally. Long live Patchouli oil!

My bedside cabinet has a couple of drawers. When I open one of them I get the faint smell of patchouli oil. There’s a small bottle of essential oil in there that hasn’t been open for years yet it still lingers.

I just stick to having a shower in the morning and a shower in the evening, even if i don't need one. Nothing worse than some of these smelly so called after shaves.

Ah well, if you think over 100 quid is a lot for two bottles of 'aftershave' then you're going to be so shocked to learn that the other week I spent around £160 on a pair of wellingtons and wellington socks!! Not just any old 'wellies' though. No, these are 'the Rolls Royce' of wellington boots! Chamois leather lined and made from the finest 100% natural rubber. No 30,40 even 50 percent plastic like Hunters and such!

In my view the best wellies are a toss-up between these two:

Both with steel shanks and toe caps. The yellow ones are more comfy and more suitable for proper walks, albeit dearer at £50 odd but the black ones are a good bit more robust and mine have survived a lot of tough caving, cheaper too and still OK for hillwalking (to caves usually) I did replace the yellow pair as they are nicer to wear but the black ones still going strong.

I think you need a fairly specific reason to drop silly money on welly boots. Those posh ones seem like the foorwear equivalent of a Range Rover.

I was considering getting some Nokian winter boots but I'm glad I bought the Sorels instead. I've been wearing them out in the snow and my feet have been super comfy and cosy. They're the 'urban' version as well, not the proper snow boots, but those are designed for Canadian winters so might be a bit much for the Peak District. I think they look pretty good as well, better than the Nokians which might run the risk of looking a bit daft if you're not actually in Finland.

I haven't smelt that since the late 1970's when as into punk rock we'd go to, I think it was called Peepers, or something like that, in Blackburn town centre, hippy type place, when all the pubs had closed. My memory has faded over the decades, but I seem to recall it smelling like a cross between high notes fly spray, bottom notes creosote.🤔
