What do you wear those with?šŸ¤” Black shoes/boots even when spectator shoes like yours, are regarded as formal wear and therefore difficult to wear informally. I had a pair of mid to dark tan and white spectator shoes. I eventually gave them to a charity shop as the toe was too round and 'Doc' Martin' like for a spectator shoe for me, who prefers a more pointed, slender toe on dress shoes.

It might be the rubbish phone camera but they're not black and white, they're actually brown and cream. TBH I rarely wear them these days but when I do it's with a suit, usually on some sort of occasion.

I've worn the Lanx brogues for two days now and I haven't had a hint of breaking in pain. If I was two days into breaking in Loakes I'd be in serious pain, knowing the worse was yet to come!!

I would imagine it'll take a while to break them in with not being able to walk that far?

Hey, thanks for your concern about my mobility! :hello: Yes, it will take a little longer than breaking in shoes in the past I suppose, as my mobility gets worse. I've noticed that the left brogue has a more obvious crease on top of the shoe than the right one has. This will be due to me bending my 'good' foot more than my right foot which doesn't get as much use these days.

I love the look of Loake shoes, but Oh dear, they just chew my feet up. Iā€™ve had 3 pairs, a suede Chelsea boot (no problem, but not brilliantly comfortable) a pair of their L1 range (ā€˜corrected grain leatherā€™, unwearable, gave them away) and my last pair a Buckingham brogue from their 1880 range. Better than the L!ā€™s but only just. Been ā€œwearing them inā€ daily for a month now, still uncomfortable and blistering. Clearly not the shoes for me.

So, it's not just me who finds Loake shoes/boots sometimes none too comfy. šŸ¤”

Colour seems a bit like what used to be co-respondent shoes tho' I think they also had crepe soles. [ Or was that just brothel creepers ? ]

My quest to maintain my eccentric, quirky, weirdo, stand out from the crowd image continues. While out walking this aft' I saw a chap riding a horse. He was wearing a highly polished pair of tan riding boots. This made me think back to the 1920's/30's images of 'chaps' wearing those type of boots with tweeds, while not actually riding a horse, more just involved in everyday life.šŸ¤”

I've looked up some of these boots, but most are difficult to find in my 10 size.

I like the look of these but they only have them in a very small size.

Any thoughts, as in would you wear such things, or would it be too eccentric for you and maybe you'd feel not quite at ease wearing them.šŸ¤”

Theyā€™re very nice but I would worry Iā€™d look like Iā€™d gone full Eubank.

Not really a cyclist if your smart outfits costs more than this seasons cycling gear. Off topic I know some who are proud that the bike costs more the the car .

Fabulous with a horse , much less so without one. IMO of course.
