does Tweed even get "wet through"? The lanolin in the wool repels the rain at the "surface"
It's also breathable as well! I have an thick, heavy roll neck submariner type jumper that hasn't been dyed. It's 100 percent wool and heavily lanolin covered as the wool has never been washed, or if it has it'll have been a gentle cold wash to get the stinky sheepy bits off. It advises on the label not to wash it, to keep the lanolin on the wool. 🐑
