No point in posting this in the thread I can't find anyway about fragrances, so I'll ask here. Have any of you tried this?

I'd like to try it, but it's very expensive, so it'd be daft to buy, then find I didn't like it and there are so many fakes/copies of it out there that even many of the small 1.7ml samples aren't the genuine item, so there's no point really in buying one. I've heard it's similar to this.

View attachment 733932 I don't mind Cool Water. I even have some, albeit from quite a few years ago and there's only a drop left in the bottle. I find it a bit too citrus like these days and not too great for the colder months, like we're experiencing now in this freezing June.:cold:

There are shops, like chemists etc, that have testers of this kind of stuff Accy

Smash the cistern
A new discovery which may be of interest to Accy and some of the other dandies on here. I got a tub of Saphir shoe cream, and was sufficiently impressed to buy a set of different colours plus the various concoctions; there being a sequence of deep-clean with solvents, which you only do initially to remove other polishes or if they are especially filthy (rather worryingly including chloro-benzene which I'd have thought quite nasty), "renovateur" a whitish cream, then the colour, and optionally their shoe polish proper if you want a mirror shine. It is is at least twice the price of the normal stuff, but annoyingly it does seem rather good. and I'm rather sold on the stuff

That's the brand my local cobbler / fancy shoe shop stocks. I've got a couple of tubs but not gone the whole hog with all the various potions.

My original remark to this posting was deemed derogatory, hey ho!
Just that I prefer to smell as many intended to. I find scents like perfumery and toilet water offends me.
I 'd rather smell natural rather than a facsimile of a overstocked florist, natural scents of the plant world, are acceptable ,but not sloshed all over ,like Brut 33.
Me , a dab of Castrol 2 stroke behind the ears, and rubbed in the wrist is a manly whiff indeed.

There are, but none round here as far as I know. Manchester maybe, but nothing around here.🧐

You can always put a spray on a squeaky door hinge if necessary too!

I bet if they made a GT85 or even a creosote aftershave/fragrance it'd be a good seller!! :okay:

I love the smell of creosote, but maybe more on wood than on me. ;) Such fragrances would be far too 'macho', @Dragoish for my 'dandy' image. I'm more a floral in spring/summer, cinnamon and clove in autumn/winter type. 🧐

Yeah, something's going on with the site redirection or something. You get the idea though, I'm sure you can find it.
I've looked at the samples in gift type boxes. I still have my doubts about their genuineness. Green Irish Tweed and other Creed fragrances are like Rolex watches. For every genuine one out there, there are ten fakes as well.

A far eastern wood and rice paper parasol, probably from the 1960's, I bought for a fiver in 'the shop' yesterday. 🧐 All we need now is some sun! That white Panama hat I bought a month ago has only been worm once, due to the constant :rain:

When toying with the thought of maybe buying this smoking jacket, I looked to see if they had my 42L size. They haven't and not only my size but most of the other sizes. My gripe is that Cordings sell quality suits and jackets, but when a certain size sells out they don't get more of that size made. Instead they seem to hope that someone will buy the not too popular sizes. There are customers like me wanting/waiting to buy their items, but they don't seem to grasp that! 🧐 🤔
