I'm struggling to understand how they can get rid of, is now 350, staff and still have a functioning club
I agree. The BBC are reporting higher figures. At June 30th 2024 United had 1140 employees. Last year 250 were made redundant and the next round is reported as 150 - 200 making a total of 400 - 450 redundancies. That's 35 - 39% of the workforce. If these positions are truly unnecessary one has to question the competence of the previous management.

Match day tickets have gone up to £66 or £1254. I've been a Rovers season ticket holder for nearly 50 years. If I'd had to face those prices when I took my three kids it would have been unavoidable. As a pensioner today I wouldn't be able to afford, or justify a single ticket.

I imagine there will be concessions for season ticket holders, pensioners etc. but it's hard to imagine how any "man in the street" can afford these prices. As a father I could not have done.

Ive no idea of prices across the PL. If clubs find it necessary to charge such prices one must question the financial competence of the PL clubs and the PL itself. The game's long term viability must be in question.

If Rovers get promoted this season, if fans are hit by similar prices I would question going. The club wouldn't or couldn't risk this but I'm sure many would feel like me.

As a formerly very wealthy club (I assume) , dies it becomes a bit of a social club, the money doesn't really matter when there's plenty of it.
One of my former employers was an independant fruit trader, wallowing in cash in its heyday. Boss would ask some of the office staff on Friday morning "anyone up for golf this weekend ?'
By that he meant all expenses in Spain.
He'd fly by Concorde.
He paid wayyyy over the top wages.
He'd give you a bonus out of his own pocket.
And so on and so on. It all came to an end of course...but when he could, he liked to share the fruit, reward those that worked hard for him (and we did work bloody hard)

Perhaps the same at MUFC

This could be a very boring last third of the Prem season.
The winner is nailed on.
Relegation is 3 teams from 4. I can’t see anyone else getting dragged in.
There will be some interest in who claims the last few European spots and how low Man U finish, but that’s about it.

Beedon, as a lifelong Liverpool fan/supporter I can't, yet, agree with
You regarding the winner being nailed on. I would like to but we need a few more good results for me to relax.

I assume you refer to LFC

It's by no means boring for me. We have a late kick off tonight (8.15) so I don't have to leave until about 6. The main challenge for me will be to find a free parking space as the cost this season has sky-rocketed. Some sites further away than ones I find are charging £25! That's all since the police started patrolling the area and taking perfectly legitimate parking zones out of action so the chancers have taken advantage and whapped the prices up. And there's talk of INCREASING capacity! They could lower it for me but once that monstrosity on the other side of Stanley Park has been knocked down, things should get a bit easier.

I don't actually attend matches now due to health problems but I really dislike the late kick offs. By half time I am ready for bed.

I quite like Goodison Park! It has a certain character you don't see in those new stadiums. God knows why Everton need a huge monstrosity like their new ground. I mean it's not like they are a 'massive club'. Their idea of success is avoiding relegation every season and beating Liverpool every blue moon! What are they going to do with the land when they knock it down by the way?

Forest have supporter led channels on YT (like most others) and people are asking (I said it myself a while ago) ..have clubs worked out Forests tactics and nullified them ?
Dominguez having a howler and has been subbed, things have livened up for them since, but Arsenal havnt lit the place up apparently ?

Nope. It's not boring. Lovely to see Forest, Brighton & Bournemouth doing so well, Mancunians spluttering, Liverpool getting back on that perch in style, and still on for a treble, the likes of Brentford, Villa & Palace all keeping the interest up. And very much enjoying the neighbours' heroic efforts to beat Derby's record points haul…

Opta stats have the likelihood of winning the title with Liverpool on 98.7%, Arsenal on 1.3% and every other club on 0%.

I think you can rest easy now.
