I'm struggling to understand how they can get rid of, is now 350, staff and still have a functioning club
I agree. The BBC are reporting higher figures. At June 30th 2024 United had 1140 employees. Last year 250 were made redundant and the next round is reported as 150 - 200 making a total of 400 - 450 redundancies. That's 35 - 39% of the workforce. If these positions are truly unnecessary one has to question the competence of the previous management.
Match day tickets have gone up to £66 or £1254. I've been a Rovers season ticket holder for nearly 50 years. If I'd had to face those prices when I took my three kids it would have been unavoidable. As a pensioner today I wouldn't be able to afford, or justify a single ticket.
I imagine there will be concessions for season ticket holders, pensioners etc. but it's hard to imagine how any "man in the street" can afford these prices. As a father I could not have done.
Ive no idea of prices across the PL. If clubs find it necessary to charge such prices one must question the financial competence of the PL clubs and the PL itself. The game's long term viability must be in question.
If Rovers get promoted this season, if fans are hit by similar prices I would question going. The club wouldn't or couldn't risk this but I'm sure many would feel like me.
