Next manager to go ???
Rude at Leicester has the enviable record of 6 straight home losses. 4 nil loss to Brentford.

I don't quite understand how it's gone so wrong for him there. From what I've seen it's not that the players have given up or look disinterested.

I agree.
I watched the match and was impressed with the effort but Brentford cut through the defence so easily.

Yeah, that's pretty much my take on it too. And RVN went 7 unbeaten at Man U so he clearly knows how to get players to work for him. Something ain't clicking and he needs to find out what it is sharpish.

That said, I think there's a stupid amount of focus on the Premier League as the mecca of football. The championship is great (as are the other lower divisions) and I'd rather my side were playing exciting and competitive matches there than getting routinely horsed in the top flight.

Amen to that. I want Rovers to be successful. I'd love the excitement of a win in the play off final. Not so sure I fancy a season of getting routinely leathered for 38 games.

It's a real dilemma. Rovers don't have a single PL quality player. We would need a whole new side. Saying that when we played Wolves a few weeks ago they looked no better than a top 6-8 Championship side. I've formed the view that for most newly promoted clubs there are probably 9/10 teams they need to take points from in order to have a chance of survival.

Promotion though would, or perhaps should, resolve our financial difficulties.

Scrapping the playoffs would help. Its quite ridiculous that a team can finish into double figures points wise behind and end up getting promoted. If they want some way of keeping the season alive they could have the first three or four teams behind the promotion places in each division have a mini tournament between them with financial carrots and the lower team of a fixture allowed to choose where it is played.

Another three points for Pompey. Third win on the trot, woo. Nine clear of the drop, and only twelve off the play-off spots (OK, that won't be happening!).

Meanwhile, Arsenal again doing their bit to make sure the title goes to Anfield. The neighbours lost at home, about as surprising as a very unsurprising thing.
