You know that Aston Villa and Nottingham Forrest have maybe a slightly better chance of winning the FA Cup than Rangers have of winning the Europa League yet you pretend that they have a far better chance! Your statement that Rangers season was over was so untrue and you know it! Maybe it'd slipped your mind that they were safely into the knockout round of the Europa League in March I don't know, but to say that their season is/was over well that just sounds quite silly doesn't it!! :cuppa:

Not really, but if that's how you view it then fair enough.

Enjoy your tea.

From a club in a play off spot to a club in a relegation place, what a @#!! he is!!

After reading the official club statement on this I'm sure he will leave. It would be hard for Rovers to have shown any less commitment to an excellent coach.

So you're blaming the club and not the manager/coach for his departure? 🤔 There are lots of comments following the article, with I'd say a 50/50 split with half of the readers supporting John Eustace and half slagging him off for 'walking out on BRFC for a club in a relegation place'.

Have you read the official club statement?

I don't read the comments in the LET because I know what to expect.

Like most weird transfers etc theirs often some history or relationships involved. In this instance Derby were John Eustaces last league club.

It seems a bit of both. Rovers lack of investment following the departure of Szmodics and Wharton has ruffled feathers no doubt. But Eustace has, according to the article, lived in a hotel for 12 months and his family live in the Midlands which has appealed to Eustace...

I'd say fans are rightly upset about the whole ordeal and there's bound to be various opinions from the fans on the matter.

Plus he lives in not that too far away Birmingham, so he won't have to make that daily 260 mile round trip to Blackburn and back every day. I always wonder why some players and managers don't move near to the clubs they've signed for, rather than doing time consuming mind numbing commutes! I wonder if ex Accy manager John Coleman makes the 'mere' 536 there and back journey from his home in Liverpool to his new club Gillingham every day.

Just seen/read that which dispels my 'He won't have to make the long journey every day" theory!

No I haven't. To cut to the chase what did it say?

You would be better doing so before questioning my view. The club statement is below. For me it raises several questions:
  1. Is this truly significant investment? Yes, wages will be involved but no real transfer money has been spent. I agree with the club three of those players looked good on Sunday.
  2. It suggests to me Eustace has already made his decision and is going. This statement is about trying to deflect the blame on to the manager. There's nothing to suggest we're keen to keep him. No praise.
  3. The club gave the manager a contract with a release clause. That's the club's responsibility.
  4. On the other hand Eustace was out of work, we wanted him and he will have known our financial position before he arrived. At the first opportunity he jumps ship.
  5. We've only won 2 of the last 11 league matches. We're still 6th but largely because other teams haven't taken advantage of this. Have the wheels come off? 2 from 11 is not promotion form.
I have two views on this. We have lost two very good managers in about a year. The question has to be why?

Eustace would be very hot property come the summer. At Rovers he has an outside chance of promotion to the PL. At Derby there is a strong chance he will be relegated. In his shoes I would have waited till the summer. Better clubs than Derby would have come knocking. It's a bad move for him.

I wasn't questioning your view at all! I was asking for your opinion that's all! ;)

Read what you posted. This suggests I'm blaming the club, regardless of the little "musing" icon.

Touchy touchy! I'll reiterate my intentions. I was asking for your opinion as CC's resident Rovers fan. I wasn't questioning your opinion, I was merely asking for it! :okay:
Far from touchy. If what you say is true you would have asked my opinion. You didn't. You asked if I blame the club by saying "So you're blaming the club and not the manager."

Accept the fact you're sometimes wrong.

Does it matter what I asked or how you interpreted it?! The topic in question is Rovers losing their manager, nothing else!!
