There are some City players on the pitch. They thinks its all over ...

Most clubs who have achieved success for a long time have a "best by"date and it looks like it's coming home to roost for Man City.
Liverpool,Man Utd and Arsenal all went through these periods but mostly it's not sustainable.
Players getting old(Thirties) and the clubs not replacing these players or the players they do bring in it doesn't work out.
City bought Kalvin Phillips who sat on the bench most of the time because Pep thought he wasn't good enough but then sold Cole Palmer and Julian Alvarez.
De Bruyne,Gundugan,Silva,Walker and Foden all look shadows of their former selves.
Under the PSR rules City will find out like Newcastle that although they have wealthy owners they just cannot go out and buy who they like.
..........or maybe City can

Liverpool v Accrington (who are they?!) Stanley! :becool:  We couldn't have got a better draw than that!! :okay: Our manager wanted Everton away as he's an Everton fan, but said he'd love Liverpool as most of his family are Liverpool fans. I'm glad it's at Anfield as I haven't been there since watching Blackburn play there in 1989, also in the FA Cup. I don't think we'll have a problem getting tickets and the money Accy make from this will be far more than if it was at our less than 5000 capacity ground.

Rovers are away to Boro. I think we'll lose that one.

Accy, I was just reading that the kid who said the famous phrase "Accrington Stanley, who are they?" was jailed for a minimum 18 years in 2023.
That must have passed me by.

BTW
This is only the 2nd time ever that LFC and Stanley have met each other.

Mmm, why was he jailed for so long I wonder?! 🤔

I heard on the radio that this'll be our first competitive meeting. Maybe Accy and Liverpool have played each other in a friendly before, but not in the 21 years I've been watching Accy.🤔 I feel a bit sorry for our former long standing manager John Coleman, as well as his former assistant Jimmy Bell. 'Coley' must be gutted, as they say in football, as he always enthusiastically spoke about hopefully one day managing Accy against the team he's supported all his life. I know he'll be at Anfield on the day of the match. Who he'll support I don't know, but I do have a slight inclination it'll be the club he took as a player and then manager from mediocre lower non league, back up to the football League. :okay:

It was for murder Dave! He made a few appearances at Stanley home matches about 12 or so years ago when that advert appeared again for some reason, after folk were asking what he was doing these days. He certainly didn't look like the bloke in his mugshot though! 🤔

Apparently they played each other in the FA Cup in 1956.
