I would question them being supporters, just thugs who latch onto football. During ganes they spend all their time tauting opposition fans and hardly watch the game.

Actually i do agree with that. Provided by "them" you mean the thuggish, violent minority of the travelling England fans. And preferably include the thugs who make up some of the fans of other teams!

[I work with an ex-thug; not my favourite person, but he's not a Bad Person. And he's definitely given up the violence, and just seems to enjoy going to games - England or his club - and having a drink and a shout.]

The draw for the Europa League Qualifying is tomorrow, and happily Killie are involved. Our social media team have posted players' responses about who we might face.

From one of my favourite players is my favourite response.

I've seen Trabzonspor. Against Erzurumspor. Cracking atmosphere. After about an hour all the home fans started chanting something and pointing at the Trabzon keeper. So the GF and I joined in. Someone tapped me on the back and said it was immoral for GF to join in. They were chanting the keeper was a homo.

Erzurum won, 1 - 0. 93 minute very dubious penalty. The ref probably thought they deserved the home advantage.

Scotland are the worst team in Scotland mate.

The problem (and it pains me to say this) is Stevie's rigidity. It worked so, so well at Killie with players of limited capability, but the players knew exactly what their roles were and played them to perfection. It wasn't always pretty but it was bloody effective. When he left that structure totally fell apart and we were an omnishambles.

You can't impose that kind of system at international level and expect it to work. You don't have the time with the players and you can't expect them to completely change what they're being told to do at their clubs.

The Czechs are probably the closest I've seen to playing a very contained system so far, and it was only luck that unpicked them. Unfortunately we aren't on the same level as them quality wise, though we do have some outstanding players.

I think from watching the Germany game that one of the problems appears to be lack of pace up front which then allows the opposition to defend basically on the halfway line as they know they are not going to be beaten in a foot race.

Yeah, I'd agree. We're rarely blessed with pacy forward thinking players and when we are they're not used wisely. Ikechi Anya springs to mind.

Even if we had a Kris Boyd type of player we'd be more potent in attack.
