Whilst I sort of agreed with Southgate's squad drops it happens Maguire brings some sense of attack organisation to an unorganised team.
Southgate brought his own brand of mediocrity.

His major success as a manager before the riches of England was getting Boro to 12th in the Premier.

The best result could have hoped for. It's just what you need a week before a tournament begins, it brings you back to reality and emphasizes that there are no easy games these days. Far better than a meaningless 9-0 win guaranteed to make you believe you are better than you actually are.

Had a great season, would look good in league 1 playing for Stockport, maybe he could bring his mate Langstaff with him too ;)
Both under contract and Langstaff has been made club captain today
