I do indeed ! .. .gosh - that's a name from the past. I reckon I might have his autograph somewhere..

He was a very good striker/goal-poacher - and I reckon he'd not be out of place in a current Championship side.

Nice story above (if a bit sad) about Bryan Douglas. I'm surprised (and pleased) that he's still with us. I reckon he must be over 90 now.
You'll have it on an old football programme somewhere. I have the Rovers 3rd Division winning team's autographs on the back of the programme for the match they won the title in, in 1975. It's in a box somewhere, on top of a wardrobe. John Kenyon a Rovers player also worked as an electrician at the same coach/bus builders as my dad. He worked there to supplement his income as he wasn't a regular 1st team player, so he missed out on win bonuses etc. My dad asked him if he could get the winning team to sign my title winning match programme, so he did. I'm tempted now to get those old programmes off the top of that wardrobe and take a look at them again, but I might fall attempting it and they'll be covered in dust, so maybe another time eh! :okay:

Boro's run winning away in the League cup continues, with the less than mighty Port Vale the latest to be dispatched.

Quite fancy knocking out Chelsea in the semis.

Dare we dream? I think we need to score at least one i the 2nd leg. It would be very Boro to fark this up.

I saw ex Stanley player Matt Crooks bear hugging your goalscorer, then thought about when he headed against the bar in front of an open goal v Yeovil in a FA Cup replay about 8 years ago, costing Accy a next round home game against Man Utd! Anyway, best wishes to you in the the second leg :okay: , but you kind of know it's going to be a ANOTHER Chelsea v Liverpool final.:tired:

Absolutely, but we still beat a team assembled with £1bn! The brought on a sub that cost more than our total starting XI!

Agree, but tough for 'Boro?

Goal up, game's theirs to lose.

Anyone planning to watch the Africa Cup of Nations, kicking off this weekend. The Beeb have a few games and kick off times don't seem to be at daft o'clock.

Usually some good football on display, and a fair amount of interest from clubs who've got players involved.

I'm hoping for Tanzanian success as my girlfriend's non-League side, AFC Telford, have a player there. They kick off against Morocco next Wednesday, and have quite a tricky group with each of their opponents (also Zambia and DR Congo) having won the tournament in the past.

I enjoy watching footy but tbh can't get entheusiastic about ACN. There are not enough players I recognise.......

Is it on the red button?

Have we got a dog in the hunt, maybe a group of eternal no hopers that may or may not kick the eventual winners erse?
