Now that we've heard the comments by the VARs following the incorrect offside decision against Liverpool it just emphasises what a cock-up it was and how it was human error, not the technology, and I am not sure what Liverpool can actually gain out of it.

Surely there can be no chance of a replay because of the precedent that will set for future mistakes.

Human error by referees has always affected the outcomes of games, and this just another example, even though VAR was supposed to eliminate it.
Jürgen Klopp has said he would like the game replayed.......good luck with that.
Look it was a terrible decision by the officials presiding over VAR but you can't just replay the game because of that mistake otherwise every other team in the EPL would want their games replayed because of bad decisions.

Without the Var call the goal was disallowed by the officials. There have been numerous times over the years goals have been wrongly disallowed, or wrongly allowed ( hand of God springs to mind), but it's not a reason to replay the game.

Euro 2028 apparently "coming home" . Thinks of England striker who could be at the top of his game then and the obvious (to me at least) is

He loves having a good whinge doesn't he!! I'm almost sure he's said in the past that these things even themselves out over the course of the season.

By the way, does anyone know why Klopp is wearing a lilac hoodie during matches these days?🤔

As I understand it, the VAR people knew they had got it wrong pretty quickly. Nothing of any note had happened in the match by that point so they could have brought play back. We get that the on field refereeing team can get it wrong but with replays all but the very tightest offsides should be able to be worked out accurately by VAR.

As to a replay, probably not but what happens if the result affects the final standings? There is too much money involved these days for the interested parties to let it go.

if we replayed every game where mistake led to goal being incorrectly given or not given (VAR or refereeing, and lets not forget the ref got it wrong "live", VAR just failed to overturn the decision) then the season would last until next christmas.....

At least the Liverpool fans have something genuine to winge about, rather than just winging about how they arent quite as good as they used to be.

iirc didn't Arsenal and one of the Sheffield teams have a replay for some reason or other?

Yes was supposed to be thrown back to Sheff Wed and an Arsenal player intercepted it and scored, not singing from the right hymn sheet. Would have been better sorted on the night by letting Sheff Wed "walk one in" as has happened subsequently in similar situations.
