If this is a genuine concern PM me.

Thanks ..... I have already checked and there is nothing readable that I could see would breach Governance issues

It does however question the "professionalism" of the indiviudal taking the picture in the first place

We had a case when one of our staff put a picture on FaceBook, and in the background was that day's Surgery list (complete with names, and the operations)

It was fun sorting that one out!

It's actually a bloke called Ben Hobbs, the link you have posted is an ambulance man (Mark Walker) that shared the pic, I don't know if he was the first to do so.

Edit: He's a First Responder, is that an ambulance man?

Well, that's me convinced. I also never ride without a Jamaica ginger cake in my back pocket.

This was a guy's ginger cake after he crashed with a car. He lived.

Please share and make sure anyone you know who rides a bike carries some cake, even Kendal mint will afford some protection.

I'm just off to the coast with an Aldi malt loaf in my jersey pocket. Should I have spent more on a branded product?

Ok. Today I mamaged to make some progress with my meds and being at up straight. I managed 1hr 20 completely upright with 3x rests of 5 mins, however physios had give home 1/2 way through setting me the challenge so I am going to discuss teamwork with them in the morning.
To answer some queries as to why I am in bed... On Thursday morning I was taken out by a recycling vehicle, I am happy to do my bit for the planet but on my own terms please. This altercation between the two resolved the scientific question "density of matter vs gleaming aesthetic " as result I have 3or4 cracked vertebrae (no damage to spinal cord), broken rib, broken sternum, and a semi scalping =25 stitches.... a big ulcer and my teeth ache. I have a long way to go before I am walking etc but the fact I am alive has been a daily thought with me. Thanks for your help and support.

There's more than enough stuff to shake a stick at, but I thought I'd finish with this one;

Paul Sheridan Ben, that looks better mate, I have to admit i have shown your smashed helmet/head combo of photos to quite a few people over the last few weeks..i almost stopped a women who was cycling with her little kid on the back of her bike down the main road with no helmets just to show her...hope to see you soon..

I reckon given the number of anti helmet posts on this forum even if some of you were presented with concrete proof that helmets can save lives you would probably still argue against them. Helmet wearing is personal choice, I personally believe a helmet could save my life in the event of a crash where my head is likely to impact with a car windscreen or similar so therefore I will continue to wear my helmet. That is my personal choice.
i personally believe that if i say a prayer to Jesus before i ride, my God will protect me... seems to be working a treat. Isn't faith great?

Well yes, I think we agree that they CAN save lives, but we disagree that they are LIKELY to save more lives than they cost.

Sadly, helmet wearing is not only personal choice: firstly, there are plenty of situations in which helmet nutters impose their views on others; secondly, if we didn't have so many non wearers, it would probably already be illegal to ride without one; and thirdly, there are lots of well-meaning idiots willing to stop parents and children in the street and try to scare them with pictures of helmets wrecked by collisions with motor vehicles that they're not designed for, as described above.

As far as that goes, that is all perfectly understandable. The issue is more complex though, and the fact is that helmet wearing disproportionately portrays cycling as a dangerous activity.
It portrays cycling as dangerous not least by all the smashed helmet pictures with emotive messages about how it saved the wearer's life, which are often incredible. How do the helmeteers explain that we don't see similar crash reports from ordinary cyclists? It's not that non-wearers are more likely to die, as we're still the majority and I'm sure it would be making more news if the pro-helmeteers had such strong evidence as that.

Don't helmet advocates feel any guilt about making cycling seem dangerous by their smashed hat pics?

I'm thinking of starting smoking.
just so I can carry a metal cigarette case and zippo lighter in my top pocket.
you never know I may get shot at one day and these items might stop the bullet.

the smoking will probably stop me cycling and save me getting run into by a car too

I don't want to put anybody off walking, it's a great way to get about and is good exercise, but please take care when out on the road and always wear a rucksack. It saved this boy's life (the police and doctors said so, so you'd be a fool not to listen to them) and might just save yours, you never know.

Please share with everyone you know. If it saves one life it'll be worth it.
