Yes, but mine isn't the Giro, it's a Casco Speed time. Read the spiel under the picture, it tells you about how it was tested.

£270!!! If I bought a helmet like this I wouldn't be able to afford a bicycle, they'd work then I suppose.

The Carbon Kevlar number ( Casco warp sprint) weighs in at under 150g, the speed time is about 200g. So unless your neck is extremely weak, the effect of the lid's weight is not a massive issue for most people.
That seems to be ignoring that the weight is at the opposite end of your head to your neck and force is multiplied by distance, so it has a disproportionate effect. When you ride as much as I do, I guess it adds up... so maybe I could do neck-strengthening exercises but it seems better just to ditch the albatross hat.

I ride ten thousand odd miles a year ( excluding tours, and special events) I always wear one of the lids I have, I've never so much as suffered neck ache. That said, I used to do martial arts, and play Rugby, so my neck is quite strong, through conditioning.

The word evidence, is in inverted commas, because the only 'evidence' I give a rats furry backside about, is the performance of the lid in a crash. I didn't suffer any head injuries, therefore I conclude, that the lid worked just as intended. You can stick your "ohhhhhhhhh but there's no scientific proof lids save you from injuries" ( probably said with a high pitched adenoidal twang) right up the Khyber pass.

I see not much has changed while I've been away, glad your helmet helped in the accident @Racing roadkill even though some on here refuse to believe it, I wonder how your bare head would have handled the offending object which caused the severe dent in the outer shell and the damage to layers beneath? Actually, it doesn't bare thinking about does it?

It's just like my tiger scaring t-shirt. No one believes me either but I maintain I've never been attacked by a tiger in Croydon.

Given the relative strength of a skull, probably quite well and almost certainly better than the outer shell did. But welcome back Justin.

It was a cats eye enclosure. I wouldn't fancy a jagged piece of Iron in the skull, at any speed.

Cracking a solo.

I was wondering where you were, have you been away?
